"If Jesus is the Bread of Life, loss of Jesus means starving. If Jesus is the Light of the World, loss of Jesus means darkness. If Jesus is the Lamb of God, sacrificed for our sins, loss of Jesus means paying that price for ourselves." - Rebecca McLaughlin
we are called to deny oursleves and take up our crosses to follow Him. not to justify ourselves. but to rest. to let knowing Jesus change everything about us and our lives.
but the truth is i’m weak. i can’t carry the weight of my salvation or identity. Jesus says “come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest”. Instead, he gives us a yoke that is easy and a burden that is light.
we have a High Priest that has entered the inner temple for us. Who has paid the sacrifice for our sins once and for all, by BEING the perfect Lamb. A redemption that is complete, and secure.
I’ve struggled with the feeling of loneliness ever since I was little. I understand that feeling well, but listen... Jesus never ever left me alone. He has always been there when I’ve felt like nobody else was. He was a friend when I had none. He’s there even when we feel alone.
For freedom Christ has set us free, let us stand firm then and not be burdened by the yoke of slavery (Gal 5). Why do I still submit to the laws of the world. To an unattainable standard as if my life depends on me reaching it.
lean into what is imperishable, an inheritance that will never perish spoil or fade (1 Pet 1:4). we will all die eventually, only what Christ has done for us will last.
your relationship with the triune God is forever.
