I've been gone for a while now, huh? Truth be told, I've been dealing with a mix of life stuff, burnout, and depression.
I want to make content again. I think I've taken a long enough break.
I'm working on a few things, but they're not ready yet.
Give me a bit longer to cook.
@MirMannor Unfortunately, PaintMii does not have a GUI at the moment. You'll need to use the app using the Windows Terminal or Command Prompt.
It might also work if you click and drag the image onto the exe file, I don't remember if I implemented that tbh.
It's finally ready!
I present to you: PaintMii!
Feed it an image, and it will make the exact button presses needed to recreate it in your copy of Tomodachi Life!

@ducky4wbx@itsxdfishyyy Do you mean like the cursor is leaving the canvas? It might be a desync if so. Could you show me a video or something of you trying to use it? I don't have the full game myself so I've only been able to test everything with just the face paint mode from the demo.
@FarmerJenkenson You'll need a device between the PC and the Switch to serve as the emulated controller that does all the work.

@Bugamashoo Honestly? I'm interested to see what path optimizations you went for. I've been trying to think of drawing algorithms I could implement with the goal of having a system where the app simulates with all available algorithms to find the one that can draw a given image the fastest.
@itsxdfishyyy oh GOD lmao
Maybe I should add a "Simulating please wait" text or something so that way if it hangs like that people will know why
ngl I hadn't even considered it until now so thanks for letting me know 🫡
@itsxdfishyyy Ah yeah, I recently uploaded an update to the code that fixes the color accuracy. Next time you're gonna use the app try redownloading it and it should start being more accurate than before lol
@MuffinzCat I recently learned that someone else is working on an alternate way of putting together a 2wiCC and it's supposed to be really easy. You could wait for that to be finished.

Hey Tomodachi Life followers, I wasnt able to get the AutoDraw working on a single device. So I designed a basic pcb to make using 2 devices much easier. No solder or wires. Just add two $5 picos.
Ordering a small test batch today to test. Video guide and code will come.
@itsxdfishyyy I think Twitter converted it to a jpg? Because the white background is very much there, and when I tried to save it my PC wanted to save it as a jpg.
Only thing I can think of is to try another image and see if the same problem occurs.
@itsxdfishyyy Nice lmao
Lemme know if you happen to bump into any problems while using it. I've only really tested it with face paint, on the demo, no less. So I've kinda just been hoping it works everywhere else in the full game.
@DistractedDevYT I'm not sure! The program does have a "controller" class that you could use to easily implement your own thing to send inputs.
The source code for SwiCC and 2wiCC is out there (I'm pretty sure I've linked them in a reply) so you might be able to get some info off of them!
@MirMannor Unfortunately no, to my knowledge no one has figured out how to achieve this with only one board. And I don't think the dev board can do it.
Someone else who's making a similar tool to mine even tried to do it with 1 board but couldn't figure it out.

@GodsonTM_ I built on top of 2WiCC as well. I spent a few days trying to spin up something that would only use one microcontroller but I wasn’t able to figure that out.
Started with py, but switched over to C once I proved it could work in py. Focused on making it easier now.
@tacolamp Oh that's neat! Is there any way for people to buy these? A friend of mine was asking me how to get a 2wiCC but couldn't get one assembled from KnFLrPn since he only ships to the US.
@MirMannor They both accomplish the same task; one is just a newer version than the other. I added support for both because I have 2 units with the old SwiCC firmware and another unit with the 2wiCC firmware.
@rescuetayo Heya! I don't have a Mac so I've never tested it but it SHOULD work I think? You would just need to have Python installed to run it.
As for getting it onto your Switch, you will need a device that plugs into your PC and Switch to act like a controller:
