These are survivors of the 1972 Andes plane crash in South America. Their flight from Uruguay to Chile crashed in the remote Andes Mountains, near Mount Seler. Trapped in the snow for 72 days with no food or rescue, they were forced to turn to cannibalism to stay alive.
