If the son of a state Governor, whose family is arguably the richest in his state, is complaining about a woman (in this case, his wife) suffocating him with “billings,” imagine what the average Nigerian man is going through, and when we complain, we get broke shamed.
⚡️ President #Putin: It has become obvious to everyone that Russia CAN NOT BE DEFEATED on the battlefield and that inflicting a strategic defeat on it is UNREALISTIC.

Pres. Tinubu’s reforms have made every Nigerian poorer by 300 percent. You can’t tell me that’s good for us in any sense— Former President Olusegun Obasanjo
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has criticised President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms, saying the devaluation of the naira worsened poverty in Nigeria.
Obasanjo made the remarks on Wednesday at the Financial Times Africa Summit 2026 in London, United Kingdom, where he argued that the sharp decline in the naira’s value had impoverished Nigerians.
He said: “We do not live in isolation as a country. We interact with the rest of the world. And overnight, you devalue the currency by 300 percent. The naira went from N500 to a dollar to N1,500 to a dollar.
“What that meant was that every Nigerian is made poor by 300 percent. That made Nigeria become the poverty capital of the world, which means Nigeria has the largest number of poor people in the world.
“You cannot say to me that that is good for Nigeria. You cannot say to me that that is good for us in any sense.”
Tinubu announced the removal of the petrol subsidy in May 2023, leading to higher petrol prices and transportation costs. The following month, his administration introduced foreign exchange reforms that allowed the naira to trade more freely.
The reforms were intended to improve market efficiency, attract foreign investment and address distortions in the foreign exchange market.
However, the naira’s depreciation, rising inflation and higher prices of imported goods have put pressure on households and businesses, while increasing food and transportation costs have further reduced Nigerians’ purchasing power.
