Today marked a historic milestone for Abia State as we gathered for the groundbreaking ceremony of the Abia Airport project at Nsulu in Isialangwa North LGA. This transformative project, undertaken by the Federal Government in collaboration with the Abia State Government, represents a significant stride toward unlocking the immense economic potential of our state and the Southeast region.

I extend my sincere gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his steadfast commitment to the development of the Southeast. I also appreciate the Minister of Aviation, my dear brother Festus Keyamo SAN, who graced this occasion and reiterated the Federal Government’s dedication to the successful delivery of this project.

The Abia Airport project is set to become a catalyst for economic growth, facilitating trade, tourism, and investment while creating job opportunities for our people, establishing the State as a critical hub for regional and international business, expanding access and driving development across multiple sectors.

As representatives of the people, the National Assembly remains fully committed to supporting this visionary initiative through the appropriation process to ensure adequate funding for its timely completion.

With the productive partnership of the Abia State Government under the leadership of Gov. Alex C. Otti, I am confident that we will see this landmark project through to completion, delivering lasting benefits to our people and generations yet to come.
