Just In: Governor Seyi Makinde has approved the commencement of Contributory Pension Scheme in Oyo State.

Employer (Oyo State Government) to contribute 12%.
Employee to contribute 8%.

A major highlight of today's proceedings was a Matter of Urgent Public Importance on the recent attack along the Kishi-Igbeti Road and other security flashpoints within the Oke-Ogun region.

The House expressed deep concern over the growing security challenges confronting residents and commuters and consequently directed the House Committee on Security to undertake an oversight visit to the Kishi-Igbeti Road, Igboho-Kishi Road, other identified flashpoints across Oke-Ogun, as well as Oriire Local Government Area, with a view to assessing the situation firsthand and engaging relevant stakeholders on lasting security measures.

We also received and considered the report on the proposed Oyo State Digital Talent Revolution Initiative (OYO-DTRI), a strategic programme designed to equip our youths with relevant digital skills and position Oyo State as a hub for innovation and technology-driven opportunities.

Furthermore, the House considered the report of the Public Accounts Committee on the Auditor-General's reports for the 2020, 2021 and 2022 financial years, reaffirming our commitment to transparency, accountability and prudent management of public resources.

In addition, deliberations were held on the need for the recruitment of additional forest officers and the reactivation of zonal forestry offices across the State to strengthen environmental protection, enhance forest management and improve service delivery.
