๐Public primary school teachers in FCT have been on strike for three months.
Yes, three full months โ and counting.
No school.
No learning.
No future in view and yetโฆ thereโs silence.
A term ended in the air.
Another is about to end โ and these children are still at home.
We had an outreach in May, 28th to be precised 2025. It was a beautiful partnership with The Visionary Women and @GacPurity@GoewamC . The girls were Enlightened.
Partnership for SDGs is such a beautiful experience.
I would not end this note without appreciating my Leader, Mrs Khadijat Shuahib for sharing this opportunity with me to be empowered and enlightened. Also, I appreciate the ARK and Rainbow Development Foundation for this beautiful initiative.
Through this comprehensive initiative, SHAPPE FELLOWSHIP envisions a future where women's leadership ensures both human security and ecological integrity for generations to come.
Ultimately, SHAPPE FELLOWSHIP represents a holistic approach to creating a better world. By strategically intertwining the empowerment of women with the critical efforts of peacebuilding and environmental protection, it cultivates a virtuous cycle of positive change.
Empowering them as environmental stewards, providing them with knowledge and resources for sustainable practices, and supporting their advocacy for ecological preservation directly contributes to reducing tensions andbuildingclimateresilience, therebyreinforcingpeaceandstability
Women, particularly in rural and vulnerable communities, often have an intimate connection with natural resources and bear the brunt of environmental crises.
Equally crucial to SHAPPE's mission is the protection of the environment. Environmental degradation, resource scarcity, and the impacts of climate change are increasingly recognized as drivers of conflict and displacement.
SHAPPE champions the idea that by investing in women's education, leadership skills, and access to decision-making platforms, we can build more resilient peace processes that address the root causes of conflict and ensure the needs of all community members are met.
Their informal networks, deep understanding of community dynamics, and emphasis on long-term stability make their participation essential for inclusive and lasting peace agreements.
