I get asked about my hair, a lot, so if you have similar hair, know it took me from age 13 to 25 to master my curls, then at about age 30, they completely changed. Yay... Here’s how I’ve learned to style them the last 5 years:
@thesassynanny@ARnannyL I had one kid who I’d ask to do jumping jacks when they had the wiggles, but never as a form of punishment. It was like, omg can you do X amount?! We made it a game. Sometimes I did it with them. See who got more. They learned it as a tool to get their wiggles out.
@ARnannyL Punishment never corrects behavior. They need to teach a replacement behavior via reinforcement. If they are using jumping jacks to like “calm him down” when he’s distracting others, they need to teach him to ask for a break, etc.
@NannyKelsi What?! My niche is WFH parents & I’ve NEVER been asked this. Maybe like high income families, but they also pay 6 figures. I’ll offer the parents if I’m cooking for the kids & it’s something they like (eg a smoothie, eggs, sandwiches). They usually say no.
My old therapist was like “wouldn’t your mom want you to forgive & find peace?” I didn’t reply but politely hmm’d. Immediately called my sister after who just laughed & was like “Oh, never.”
Anyone who knew my mom knew she made being petty an art form. An inspiration.
My husband had an affair with a friend of mine. From the time I was 7 months pregnant till I found out, when my baby was 2 months old. How did I find out? She called me, at 3am..
A 🧵
@SingingDogz @meghanttucker I mean, I think something that is hearty with a lot freezer life, that takes extra time for the original maker like a lasagna. Probably a couple with the fancy cheesy and nice meets in this situation.
@nannywoes You’ve handled this all super professional, given the circumstances. While lack of meds/stress explains the behavior, it doesn’t excuse the behavior.
@SummerKayPNW Right? I had one just interview process like that. It was bc she was interviewing less expensive nannies first & I had to be like, with all due respect, that tells me you don’t value my time or believe I’m worth the pay.
@lttvnk ADHD makes you super observant. It’ll become a super but as a kid it creates perfectionism. My trick as a kid was to reach my arms out & say, “If it’s out of reach, if out of my control.” Good luck with the diagnosis part! It helps just knowing where to start.
@lttvnk I was diagnosed combined ADHD at 8. That “extra helpfulness” can also be anxiety driven due to an over active brain, which can lead to people pleasing/perfectionisnt. Just make sure she knows how to not let others exploit that helpfulness.
@dangkitty207 @MaxWibby@PressHerald Current loans work in that if you borrow $400K now, you may send up paying almost twice that overal due to interest being paid first then principal.
@dangkitty207 @MaxWibby@PressHerald What I understand is this loan is one flat rate. If they borrow $400K, in the end they only pay $400K. If paying $2500/m, ≈ $2,000 pays what we consider principal in reg mortgage & $500 to bank fees.
