It's really funny how America and the UK stopped investing in infrastructure in the 1980s because the free market will pave potholes and make the trains run on time and now literally nothing works and you cannot go anywhere or do anything but like 4 people are richer than God.
today i received an invitation to debate whether abortion is healthcare with the anti-abortion group CBR UK
here was the seemingly polite request and my reply to cut through the bullshit
i am sharing to make sure no one in my network agrees to participate in this "debate"
@JimSterling I've been playing a lot of pokemon pinball and it is terrible for this. The focus on completing the pokedex rather than just racking up points makes it extra egregious.
1. I’m often asked by the industries I criticise to “work with us and find solutions”. It sounds reasonable. But is it?
In some cases (fossil fuel companies for example), I don’t think any environmentalist should work with them. We should combine to shut them down.

Responding to the election disaster by shifting to the right on social issues - i.e. throwing minorities under buses - is wrong and self defeating. Younger people will abandon the party, and the political debate will shifted on to terms that permanently favour the Tories.
So, our trains, part-run/owned by Germany, are seeing fare increases of 2.7%. Meanwhile, German train fares are going down 10%. Our train fares are subsidising theirs.
Democracy is when unelected intelligence agencies conduct propaganda campaigns against their own citizens in concert with the unelected billionaire business owners to crush workers movements and make sure that poor people don't accidentally decide to empower themselves.
It's funny when people say we shouldn't have unions because they get corrupted. Like, a corrupt union leader sells out the workers to take a bribe.
But that's how capitalism works that ISN'T corrupt. Bosses get bonuses for cutting labor costs. That's better? Openly screwing you?
