So.... my 9 year old asked me and his dad if he could get his nails painted the next time I went to get my nails done.

y'all know i absolutely support this, as I did when CJ wanted to start painting his nails.

Some of Damien's favorite male content creators have painted nails, and we support his decision to express himself like this.

So he got his nails painted over the weekend. He picked out a nice navy blue color and was ELATED the entire weekend and showed them off to everyone he could.

Today, picking him up from school, is the second day this week that he has told me that another kid called him "gay" because his nails are painted.

These are 9 year old kids.

He's distraught. And as much as I would love to tell him to tell those kids to fuck off and mind their business, I just know if he stands up for himself, it's going to get worse. I HATE that he cannot just be himself without me having to now worry about him being bullied into taking off the polish, and marking what should have been a fun experience for him with trauma.

It's so disheartening that so many homophobic asshats are raising miniature homophobic asshats that can't just let people fucking exist. not even the kids. I honestly fucking hate it here.
