Meet the architects and brain behind the story
The Writers
From the ideation to first draft to the shoot draft. They kept the truth and soul of the story.
We are proud of the work that they collectively achieved with this film and we hope they are proud of it just as much.
Happy 58th Birthday to Naomi Watts, one of the most underrated actresses of her generation.
From MULHOLLAND DRIVE (2001) and 21 GRAMS (2003) to THE IMPOSSIBLE (2012) and BIRDMAN (2014), she has spent decades quietly delivering one incredible performance after another. That run alone deserves to be talked about far more.
na we dey do ourselves mehn. instead of you to be rallying people to watch a film that is a bit different to what exists in commercial nollywood, you don turn am to iq yarning. god sees all
Paul Thomas Anderson really spent his career making movies about porn stars, oil men, cult leaders, lovesick weirdos, obsessive dressmakers and political radicals, and somehow built one of the most consistently brilliant filmographies in American cinema.
That is an absurd range for one filmmaker.
MAD MEN season 5 is one of the greatest seasons of TV ever made, and honestly, it’s hard to think of another season that balances so many characters and storylines this beautifully.
Don is trying to become a different man. Peggy is realizing she may have outgrown the world around her. Joan is navigating a choice that changes everything. Pete is becoming increasingly impossible to watch. Lane’s story takes one of the show’s darkest turns. And Megan’s arrival completely changes the temperature of Don’s life.
What makes the season extraordinary is how quietly all of this unfolds. Matthew Weiner never needs to announce the big moments. They just sit there, slowly becoming devastating.
And then comes “The Other Woman,” “Commissions and Fees,” and that finale.
MAD MEN at its absolute peak.
With Alcaraz losing tonight, that keeps the streak alive of no player having defended the US Open title since 2008.. it shows how hard it is to do and yet Federer did it 5 straight times from 2004-2008..
Federer 🐐
Cate Blanchett’s Oscar snub for Tàr is a snub by @TheAcademy that gets worse with every passing awards season. Blanchett’s career is filled with high points & multiple Oscars but she should’ve won another for this film. Simply electric. I also consider this perhaps the single best performance of this decade. I can’t think of a worse snub.
