We are the Crazy Ones... Those that are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones that do.

I'm hugely inspired by the drive to fix the Care System, this era is unprecedented. We are one, One Voice !

We are inviting you to campaign with us, as One Voice on this amendment to the Children, Well being and Schools Bill in the House of Lords - (2nd Reading 2/5/2025)

New Clause (NC) – Inclusion of Care Experience in Equality Impact Assessments

(1) Any public body required to conduct an Equality Impact Assessment (EIA) under:

(a) Section 149 of the Equality Act 2010 (England and reserved UK functions),
(b) The Equality Act 2010 (Statutory Duties) (Wales) Regulations 2011, or
(c) The Equality Act 2010 (Specific Duties) (Scotland) Regulations 2012,
(d) Section 75 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998,

must include an assessment of the impact of their policies and practices on persons who are or have been in the care of a local authority.

[Members Explanation: By including Care Experience in Equality Impact Assessments, this amendment provides a mechanism that public bodies already understand and use, helping to support the extension of Corporate Parenting responsibilities in a way that is structured, measurable, and embedded in existing decision-making processes]

Should we get this amendment and it comes into law, we will get systemic change once and for all

Children and young people in care are not a burden on society—they are not pests. Just read Oliver Twist, and you'll see how little has changed, especially in attitudes. But here's the truth: many of the world's most iconic heroes came from the care system. That's where the narrative needs to start—and where it must continue. #changeiscoming

Here is a step by step guide to the Christmas Dinner. This is how we do it for care leavers. The key to a successful dinner is a diverse focussed group with this guide. Click link and it will explain the ethos & practice. We start in September! https://t.co/I52ZzEntMX

Christmas lights shine and tables are set
The gift of life is time and also the test
The hosts arrive soon with sunrise and chef
And then the gentle arrival of the first guest
