There is no such thing as a human being with a genuine need for demographic-exclusive spaces. If the mere presence of a person of the wrong demographic makes you uncomfortable in a context where you'd be fine otherwise, that makes YOU a bad person.
@Lynne_Kelly Reading Knowledge Gene, just finished neurodiversity chapter. I received autism diagnosis (then aspergers) in 1988, when I was 11. I can memorise a poem but not what I was doing 5 minutes ago. My ability to visualise is poor, but not quite aphantasic.
@Lynne_Kelly Currently visiting Darwin, and today bought a copy of Margo Neale's First Knowledges box set from museum. I don't expect to have a chance to read them anytime soon but they will wait.
@AstroKenya Over on Bluesky someone has shared this starter pack of African scientists, might be of interest if we ever see you over there. https://t.co/w3F5WHKK7o (I don't know what you see if you're not logged in.)
@ErinInTheMorn Are you aware that AVG anti-virus says: "We prevented your connection to https://t.co/YsIYHRTzf2 because it is a dangerous webpage. Threat category: HTML:WixPhishing-A [Phish]" ?
@Lynne_Kelly I can't get away from fascinating videos on prehistoric societies that make me wonder what your perspective would be and what pertinent facts you could tell the presenter. The most recent: https://t.co/FGJApBlCdG
@ZJemptv Alternatively, we could stop normalising the idea that single sex spaces are ever a genuine human need, and we could tell people who perceive themselves to have such a need to get the bleep over it. Joyce is truly a horrible person.
@Lynne_Kelly@ConversationEDU I feel the article falls short in addressing the need to place the bulk of responsibility on the big players who do most harm rather than on the individual consumer.
@RottenInDenmark Sure, Trump lies, constantly and brazenly. But on the other hand, sometimes Kamala says things de re that a journalist arbitrarily insists should be interpreted de dicto. 🪄 Equivalence!
@Lynne_Kelly Seen a surge of Stonehenge-related content recently, including this video about the adjacent wooden fence. I'm sure none of the information is new to you but you may want to add something. I think we can rule out the host's final speculation! https://t.co/YtNjvQQOVu
@jdcmedlock I'm under the impression that Biden consistently stood up to Netanyahu, despite what people say. Source: mostly @BeauTFC. (Note: I'm not American, so I have limited investment in the topic.)
@RottenInDenmark He may be naiive to think such an analysis can be presented on social media without being read as an endorsement of Vance, but as an autistic person that is a type of naiivity I recognise.
@RottenInDenmark I think you're being unfair. I've never heard of the person you quote tweeted, but he doesn't purport to be revealing some Deeper Truth. The stated purpose of his thread is to analyse the psychology of why Vance's line "seems believable for so many people".
@Ethelmonster I read him differently, I think the woke are the Allies in his analogy. Not that it matters but ambiguity is fun. https://t.co/ONgFtX0Imw
@RottenInDenmark Some replies have taken him to mean "what is the factory that can be attacked to defeat the woke", but I think he means "what is the factory the woke have attacked/infiltrated that accounts for their otherwise inexplicable success". His whole post is a rorschach test I guess.

@guymrdth Of course, when we say "Imane Khelif isn’t even trans", the topic isn't Imane Khelif, the topic is the bigots, the point we're making is about *them*. The illusion of conceding ground occurs if people are manipulated into thinking that the topic was Imane Khelif all along.
@ParkerMolloy@JuliusGoat@JuliaSerano The one thing I don't get is why the Vance/couch narrative was folded into the weird narrative. Using inanimate objects as masturbation aids is in fact very normal, and you can't violate the consent of furniture. Is it about the hypocrisy of policing other people's sexuality?
@RottenInDenmark People should talk about masturbation more often, but in a non-judgey way, and not on the terms of an authority figure. Also, people should stop conflating masturbation with touching one's genitals.
