Here are a few other places you can find us elsewhere online if you would like to keep up with our game's development:

Social media sites aren't the only sinking ships we are dealing with recently, here's a recent post with some thoughts about the Unity issues and how our future plans might change due to it.

Hey there, we've started setting up a Discord server.
We've added opt-in notifications if you want to keep up with Great Gun Gauntlet's development, and we're hoping to make the server a nice hub for discussion over time.

We've got another dev log. This one is a very in-depth look at the journey involved in implementing some of the new extra fancy particles & particle optimizations along with them.

Another of the new finished assets, this time one of the collectables.
Diversifying the player's choice making with collectables worth more points, there will now be more than the 100 Points ones.

Continuing with our little showcases, now we can get onto the completely new obstacles as we complete their final model and texture work.
Starting simple again, we have the new bulky Barrier obstacle!

We've updated a few of the timeline images on our Roadmap page to better reflect how far along development currently is.
Below are the before & after highlights of what's been updated. Note the color key.

If you missed any of the comparisons we've posted between our demo assets and current updated versions, or if you'd just like to see them again, we now have a page on our site that has them all in one place!

Another fun detail to go with this is the comparisons between the old and new wireframes. The spheres on the old one were so poorly optimized that the new mesh actually has 70 less polygons total!
2,662 vs 2,592

Saving the best for last, we have our game's mascot itself! Gear Guy as it has been named has gone through quite the visual overhaul over time, especially compared to the model we had pre-demo.

The last of the demo obstacles to compare with their new versions, the Spinning Laser.
By far the most dangerous of enemies in the demo, but that may no longer be the case in the full game...!
#GreatGunGauntlet#GGG#gamedev#unity3d
Equally as cool looking as the upgrade Plasma Box, the Plasma Spinner benefits from the new graphical effects used to replace the old animations.
The more consistent color palette definitely makes it easier on the eyes.

Just a couple more comparisons left, this week we have the Laser Generator.
Not shown is the laser beam or the pulsing animation the new lasers have when shooting their beam.
#GreatGunGauntlet#GGG#gamedev#unity3d
A slightly different visual showcase this week, an update to all obstacles has been the addition of emissive textures for dark arenas.
In general there's been a lot of nice lighting improvements as part of the graphical upgrades.
#GreatGunGauntlet#GGG#gamedev#unity3d
This week's comparison is probably one of our personal favorite visual upgrades, the Plasma Box.
Part of why comparisons like these have desynced animations is because we're comparing the actual original objects, rather than just models.

A somewhat sillier comparison this week, the old bullet is looking a bit flat...
Besides also having better animations, the new bullet is better designed to maintain its spherical look no matter the camera angle.
