@MSRterps I definitely agree some of South Carolina’s best players right now are from the DMV! But at the end of the day you need someone that has been there before and knows the city and culture around the place!
Sources: Maryland coach Mike Locksley has been dismissed. Maryland dropped to 2-5 on Saturday after a last-second loss to Rutgers. Locksley is 39-54 overall at Maryland, including his interim stint in 2015. Maryland is on a bye this week.
@QualkTalk A real take Sellers is loved around here for 6 quarters of football in 2024, he’s just not that good. Love him as a human but it’s time to make a change
@jordankaye_23 Jordan the problem is we living off 6 quarters of sellers from 2024 he isn’t that good and honestly he’s holding back the sleeping giant
Brutally honest: If South Carolina plays Alabama like they played Mississippi State, this could get ugly FAST. You can’t turn it over, settle for FGs, disappear for a quarter and expect to survive in Tuscaloosa. Sellers needs a monster game. Alabama 41, Carolina 27.
I’ll say it: something doesn’t look right with this South Carolina team. Guys don’t seem to be playing FOR each other. Little energy, questionable body language, and not enough accountability. Football is the ultimate team sport, but right now this looks like individuals wearing the same uniform.
The ugly truth about South Carolina:
You don’t blow a 16–0 lead at home to Mississippi State if you’re ready to contend in the SEC.
❌ Couldn’t finish drives
❌ Turnovers at the worst times
❌ Defense gave up explosives
❌ 0 points in the 3rd quarter
❌ Couldn’t finish the game
The talent is there. The consistency isn’t.
Bottom line
This was a bad missed opportunity for South Carolina. They were at home, up 16–0, gained 431 yards, and still lost. The combination of two costly turnovers, failure to finish early drives, and the defense collapsing after the fast start turned what looked like a comfortable win into a 41–34 SEC loss.
South Carolina didn’t lose because Mississippi State dominated the stat sheet. They lost because they completely lost control of a game they had in hand.
