VIETNAMESE ROBLOX PLAYERS PAY 20-40% MORE PER ROBUX THAN GLOBAL USERS

Beyond the region lock, the silent rollback, and the four Vietnamese law violations already documented — Roblox VNG systematically charges Vietnamese players more per Robux than the global rate.

DOCUMENTED PRICING COMPARISON

Global Roblox purchase rates:
— $4.99 USD = 500 Robux (approximately 100 Robux per USD)
— Premium subscription: up to 110 Robux per USD

Roblox VNG purchase rates (Vietnamese domestic):
— 20,000 VND = 55 Robux
— 50,000 VND = 145 Robux
— 100,000 VND = 300 Robux
— 180,000 VND = 400 Robux

Exchange conversion (27,000 VND per USD as of documentation):
— 100,000 VND ≈ $3.70 USD purchases 300 Robux
— Per USD equivalent: approximately 80 Robux per USD

Vietnamese domestic ratio: 80 Robux per USD.
Global standard ratio: 100 Robux per USD.
Premium subscription ratio (not available in Vietnam): up to 110 Robux per USD.

Vietnamese players receive 20% fewer Robux per dollar than global users on standard purchases, and up to 40% fewer than global Premium subscribers.

WHAT THIS MEANS

VNG operates as the exclusive Roblox provider in Vietnam. Vietnamese consumers cannot legally purchase from Roblox Corporation directly through official channels. Every Robux purchased by a Vietnamese player routes through VNG's pricing structure.

That structure extracts more money for the same digital good than global users pay.

VNG additionally does not offer:
— Roblox Premium subscriptions (excluded from Vietnamese market)
— Roblox gift cards (typically cheaper per Robux than direct purchase, unavailable in Vietnam)
— Regional promotional pricing tiers available in comparable markets

Vietnamese users purchasing 1,000 Robux monthly pay approximately $12.50 USD equivalent to VNG. Global users purchasing the same amount pay approximately $10.00 USD. The 25% premium extracted from Vietnamese consumers has no operational justification — the digital good is identical.

WHY THIS MATTERS ALONGSIDE THE REGION LOCK

The region lock traps non-Vietnamese users in Vietnamese pricing.

Users physically outside Vietnam — in Russia, Pakistan, Egypt, Netherlands, USA, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, and other documented locations — cannot leave the VNG region. They also cannot purchase at their home region's rate.

Every non-Vietnamese user locked into VNG is now paying the Vietnamese premium rate for a service they never consented to migrate to.

This transforms the region lock from a policy dispute into an active revenue extraction mechanism from users who were forced into the jurisdiction without their consent.

FROM A DOMESTIC VIETNAMESE SOURCE

Quoted from the analysis provided by a domestic Vietnamese contributor:

"If I use VPN to change my IP to Hong Kong, 1 dollar now worth 91 Robux — this is still more than what we received from buying from VNG. In the end, VNG scamming VN player by saying buy Robux from them worth more."

FOR REGULATORS

Vietnamese players are subject to systematically inferior pricing on an identical digital product, with no operational justification and no alternative purchase channel.

Non-Vietnamese players are locked into this inferior pricing structure without consent, without disclosure, and without exit path.

For US regulators (FTC, California Attorney General): this constitutes documented economic harm to non-consenting consumers, distinct from and additional to the consent, region lock, and support failure issues already filed.

For Vietnamese regulators (Cục Cạnh tranh và Bảo vệ người tiêu dùng): this constitutes a direct question of price discrimination by an exclusive market operator against the domestic consumer base.

For platform review (Google Play, Apple App Store): app store guidelines require pricing disclosure and prohibit deceptive pricing practices tied to forced regional migration.
