#EditingPrompt Hyphens have specific uses. If two words are being used to modify a third that follows, use hyphens. If the modifying words follow the word they describe, omit the hyphens. For example, you might perform “part-time work,” or you may “work part time.”
I’ve been getting back into writing creatively recently and I’m thinking of submitting a short story to a publication or contest. This is one good list. Anyone have suggestions for other places I might submit?

I love this quote. Writing is all about imagination. One of the best things about our craft is the fact that we can write anything, at any time, and take our story any direction we want. It's magic!
I bought myself a Christmas present. Love the standing desk so far! Except the part where Stryker climbs underneath it & tries to claw at me to get my attention. At least he isn’t standing in front of my computer monitor or on my keyboard anymore. Merry early Christmas y'all!

#EditingPrompt Many writers are intimidated by the editing process, and that’s okay. Before you throw in the towel and send your first draft directly to a professional editor, run it through a spell checker or automated program to catch the basic misspellings and grammar issues.
I get “stuck” a lot when I write creatively. But the truth is, I can unstick myself any time. As Wayne says, you are only stuck if you decide to be. Make a decision today to unstick yourself by calling a professional editor. We are here to help inspire and guide you into action.

#EditingPrompt What is your editing goal? I bet you just answered with “to finish editing my book.” You need to be much more specific! Learn from an editor how to position yourself for a smooth transition from writing to editing and how to set goals to get you to the finish line.
As a writer and editor, I do a lot of social media to connect with the community. However, being everywhere on social isn’t right for everyone. Read from Writer’s Digest how to determine if a social media presence is right for you.

I love to talk about writing and give people tips and tricks for making their writing the best it can be. But the true secret to writing is simply sitting down with your fingers on the keyboard and typing. That’s it! So, go out and share the secret with others. Happy writing!
Shorty and Stryker look like a yin-yang when they cuddle. Similarly, the right editor can be a yin to a writer’s yang. Don’t hesitate to ask for a 2 to 5-page sample edit from a prospective editor. This allows you to see if that editor’s vision and style compliments yours.
#EditingPrompt Do you know your crutch words? (Those you repeat the most.) Do you know your trouble words? (Those you always seem to be looking up to make sure are right.) Knowing your own writing habits—both good and bad—will help when you go back to self-edit.
