The RAF’s latest Remotely Piloted Air System (RPAS), the Protector RG Mk1, has started deployed assurance testing and operator training in preparation for its replacement of Reaper’s operational role within Op Shader.
A ceremony has been held at @RAFWaddington for the reformation of 31 Squadron, known as the Goldstars.
31 Squadron will soon be equipped with the new Protector remotely piloted air system, which will offer the RAF a vastly improved armed ISTAR capability.

I had the amazing opportunity to see the phenomenal reformation parade of 31 Squadron. A Squadron known for Teamwork, Togetherness & Fun.
Nice to be able to see our parent sqn back in operation and build the 31 relationship with both Cadet & RAF Forces.⭐️🟢🟡

Today marks a special occasion as @Goldstars31 conducted their reformation parade at @RoyalAirForce@RAFWaddington. An amazing display to see, but one that carries significant importance as we look to re-establish our relationship with our RAF counterparts. 🟡🟢⭐️🟡🟢
@DGriffiths9_@31_air_cadets And great to meet you too. You were immaculately turned out and represented your Sqn very well. So glad that you could make it and we hope to see you again with 31 ATC once we are up and running flying Protector in the UK.
We are showing our support & thanks today for all the Volunteers and Auxiliaries who support our Regular Armed Forces. Especially @616Sqn RAuxAF who supports the Goldstars.
Today we are going through some of the historical treasures from 31 Sqns history as we unbox our heritage collection. Will showcase some of the best examples.
