I collect golf books, magazines, films, records… mainly 1920s-1990s. Especially the lost films that haven’t made it to the modern era.

@Top100Rick With the internet’s love for nicknames and acronyms I hope nobody has come all this way and then realised afterwards that there are two KI’s in Australia with epic new golf courses. Though King Island has now passed ten years.
Happy 100th birthday to Bob Toski.
Bob topped the 1954 PGA Tour Money List with 4 wins. George May’s World Championship of Golf at Tam O’Shanter had $50,000 winner’s prize money. Ed Furgol 1954 US Open was $6,000.
He moved into teaching a few years later having become a father.
It was nice to see Bob Toski interviewed this week on @ChampionsTour Learning Center. He will turn 99 years old later in the year.
With the @RBCCanadianOpen on currently here is “The Mouse” at the 1959 Canadian Open.
@Cackalacman Reminded me of Daly. I remembered back in his prime he had an enormous amount of papers under his grips and more under the right hand than left to reduce the taper.
I found this article though more recent.

@Skratch@TOURChamp There was a film about Bobby Jones’ career in the 1940s called Old Man Par. You had to go the cinema to see it in the same way they did for Ben Hogan and Follow the Sun.
1983 Young Guns.
@johncookgolf won the Canadian Open over Miller, Nicklaus, Bean and Graham. Gary Hallberg won the San Diego Open from Kite, Crenshaw, Cook, Floyd and Watson.
In a follow up to yesterday’s 1968 feature on Merion’s babbling baffling brook 11th hole here is Jack Nicklaus and Jim McKay doing a feature on the same iconic little hole 24 years later for a 1992 vhs “Jack Nicklaus Presents America’s Toughest 18 Holes”. Enjoy the US Amateur at Merion this week.
A lovely little 1968 film short on Merion’s 11th hole with sportscaster Charlie Jones and Merion head pro Fred Austin. Fred was the pro from 1946 to 1969.
The US Amateur is at historic Merion this week.
In 1930 Bobby Jones beat Eugene Homans 8 and 7 to complete the Grand Slam.
It was on the short par 4 11th that he closed out the final. An iconic little hole known for its babbling brook that stretches down the hole and guards the green.
