Not on here to push lessons or online training or any other bulls**t. Only here for the love of the game & there is no golf swing that I cannot instantly help
Most weekend players never practice (or rehearse pre round) scoring clubs when they’re completely loose.
Wedges are important. Don’t hit one before the round until you are 100% warmed up.
WARMUP routine for the weekend:
1) 7 or 8 irons until the body is loose.
—> You’re warming up to play golf. You aren’t practicing. You aren’t doing what the pros with perfect swings do. You’re hitting the middle club that is most similar to all of the others until your body is warmed up. Start half swing little chips. Continue ramp up til warm
—> Leave the wedges alone for now
2) straight to 3w: hit 3-5 off the ground, but treat them like tee shots. They’ll be sub par to your liking. That’s fine. You aren’t fully warm yet. Zero expectations
3) Wedges (8-10 balls): alternate 50y/100y/50y/100y. This is your gauge for the round. Internalize these. What you’re feeling for 50. What you’re feeling for 100.
4) Now work your way down to driver
Putting — 3 things to try this weekend
1) Rehearsal: Line first. Speed second.
2) Short putts (~3-10 feet): move the ball back in your stance
3) Read 1&2 again. Can’t emphasize them enough.
@Mike_Will_Spike ie. Force the club back on top by feeling as steep and over the top as possible, and eliminate the way under the plan miss.
And then you can quiet the arms back down once you feel the club matching/ staying level to your body’s rotation.
BUT, we can’t have pulled left fuck you left draws against the father-in-law. So, think about it this way..
If you are going to now have a square clubface at impact, you no longer have to yank the club way left.
So, feel the above with combination of the hands hitting waste height in the downswing before the right shoulder moves.
Good luck out there.
Maybe. If you ever deeply desire to hit a draw, I got you:
You have no forearm rotation on the way down.
No forearm rotation = clubface isn’t matching body rotation = clubface comes down way open (right).
—> To counter this, you force the club straight left, which is why you pull cut it.
The logo of your glove should be rolling left through the entirety of the downswing, and eventually be pointing at your left shoe at impact.
That’s your exaggeration feel.
@DarrylHeffline Send a screenshot of this to one of your buddies who repeatedly gives you sh*t for falling over, and tell them to suck on that perfect post impact position
Left hip to first base. Swing the club to first base. Clubhead wins the race (to the ball) + forearm rotation
—
Baseball players have been taught their entire lives to avoid the roll over.
The rollover comes from forearm rotation.
Forearm rotation closes the face in the golf swing downswing.
Because there is no forearm rotation, baseball players then come over the top to get the club moving hard left to counteract this clubface they don’t know they’re leaving wide open.
All baseball players can be told to hit a low inside fastball on command.
Whole point being that the over the top comes from an open club face, not the muscle memory of the hips and shoulders
Yep. The s word will come when you try to fix it with the right shoulder. So rather, you need to feel the club head beating your right shoulder to the ball, with your right shoulder staying as far to the inside-side of the ball as possible.
If this doesn’t work, come back to me and I’ll give you a way to work through it backwards by starting with where you release the club and work to the top of the downswing.
The above should fix all tho
