This song just never gets old and I’m not sure you can be more ‘Merica than it being played on the Plain of West Point by a Red Leg in pinks and greens. @ryanoscott crushes it again!
Happy 4th of July fam!
Can we just all agree that Brandel Chamblee should also be excommunicated from professional golf? I mean if we can cancel Phil and Tiger, surely we can rise to this occasion.
Watching Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson participate in a competition of who could have the biggest fall from golf grace was not on my 2026 bingo card but yet here we are.
Becoming a good golfer is one of the best things you can do for your career.
It will get you in rooms you don't deserve to be in.
MBA's are saturated, scratch golfers aren't.
I don't write the rules but if you are a low handicap golfer it prints in the business world.
Dear @Hertz, when i got read-ended while at a stop in your car, called your roadside number and got a "please call during business hours" message, i laughed. When I went to your location to return the car and provide insurance info of the person who hit me, and was told "do not worry we'll take care of it", i was relieved. But when weeks later you contacted me demanding i pay cash for the repair and told me hat in fact you "never take care of it" and you have no idea who told me, andit was on me to "handle it", I was furious. Luckily (with permission) I recorded your employee telling me at great length that you will in fact take care of it and after submitting this report at the location, there was no further action required of me. So, what now? Is this the sort of business you run? Lying to customers and attempting to gaslight them? Seriously?
This is the only rollback we need.
Get rid of the equipment trucks. Pros get to pick up their boxes of balls just like everyone else. They pick the clubs in their bag at the beginning of the season. They get one alibi for each club. Normal wear and tear is a freebie.
I don’t understand the anger about the golf ball roll back. It will make no difference whatsoever to the average golfer and puts golf back on a path of sustainability. It will also help bring back certain skills in the pro game that have been eradicated over the past 2 decades.
The people who are upset about this decision shouldn’t be mad at the governing bodies, they should be mad at elite pros and club/ball manufacturers because they didn’t want bifurcation. The governing bodies presented us with that option earlier this year. Elite pros and ball manufacturers think bifurcation would negatively affect their bottom lines, when in reality, the game is already bifurcated. You think we play the same stuff you do? They put pressure on the governing bodies to roll it back to a lesser degree for everyone. Bifurcation was the logical answer for everyone, but yet again in this game, money talks.
Real talk—Memorial Day.
This weekend is a tough one for a lot of us.
It’s easy to find yourself in a dark place, asking “why?”
Why them?
Why not me?
Why were we there in the first place?
You’re allowed to do this, but I always tell people to focus on two simple things this weekend:
1. Remember them the way they would want to be remembered.
2. Do them proud.
You can’t change the past, you can only move forward.
Do it for them.
Tim Sparks has purchased 80 Pizza Huts and brought back everything that made them iconic!
Pac-Man is back.
Salad bar is back.
Red cups are back.
Booths for families.
@drakesmith__ I always ask people if they are a verbal, visual, or tactile learner.
If they don’t know we go on the journey together to figure it out. If they do, life gets a lot easier and the queues and swing thoughts can be more precise.
Golf ball rollback is a mistake. The beauty of golf is that the course and conditions CAN be the same for everyone. Pros are really good. We should celebrate it, not stifle it.
If anything limit equipment changes/adjustments like 99% of golfers. Clubs and balls off the rack.
My current thoughts:
-This affects just the top .1% of golfers.
-what the USGA is proposing, it’s not going to roll it to the degree that those that are for the rollback wants.
-The rollback ball affects some players a lot but barely affect others. It depends on ur launch conditions
-This will make distance even more important and even more of an advantage
-There’s not a lot of faith in the Usga with their ideas and the implementation of these ideas
-Bifurcation is what’s needed to make serious changes but plenty of people find value in one rule set (which I find less important than others)
My idea instead of ball rollback.
Pros pick their bag at the beginning of the year. Choose 16 clubs so they can adjust their bag for the course but still 14 on game day. They can change clubs once in a season. No micro adjustments every week.
Stock balls from the pro shop.
Golf Twitter used to feel like the clubhouse after a Saturday morning round. Guys posting flushed 7-irons, muni sunsets, terrible scorecards, gear talk, funny stories, and the occasional completely unhinged swing tip from a 12 handicap.
Now it’s the Burnerverse.
An entire ecosystem of anonymous accounts pretending to be rich tough guys with all the answers.
Every avatar is sunglasses in a truck. Every bio reads:
“Scratch. Markets. Violence. Cigars.”
And somehow every single one of them:
Hits it 340
Is a plus handicap
Makes seven figures
Trains MMA
Has insider sources
Knows how to fix pro golf
Thinks everyone else is soft
And would “absolutely say this to your face”
Sure, man.
Every conversation immediately turns into a blood feud about TV ratings, ball speed, legacy, or whether Tiger secretly controls world finance.
Meanwhile the actual soul of golf gets buried.
The walk.
The early tee time coffee.
The miracle 5-iron.
The random retiree you get paired with who tells stories for four hours.
The one flushed shot that keeps you coming back after shooting 92.
That’s the stuff that made golf Twitter fun in the first place.
The Burnerverse doesn’t actually love golf. It loves status. Golf is just the costume.
Because if you truly love this stupid game, you eventually realize golf humbles everyone. Eventually your swing leaves. Your putting disappears. You snap hook one into a pond in front of people you respect.
Golf strips everybody down eventually.
You are not edgy.
You are not cool.
You’re just another idiot trying to flush one before the sun goes down.
Some days practice is just a 58 degree wedge, a putter, and a shag bag. Nothing like hitting hundreds of chips with some tunes going.
