There are two sides to the Golgi stack. The cis face is the receiving department of our postal service, located conveniently next to the ER, ready to receive proteins. The trans face is the shipping department, packaging and labeling proteins to their destination.

I am so grateful for my Cisternae. Being that on average I have around five to eight of these flattened sacs it allows for many chemical reactions to take place at once eventually fastening the speed at which organisms can produce other products. Vote for Golgi!

Do you like your house or workspace filled with junk? Well, I certainly don't. Thanks to my ability to form lysosomes they are able to break down the excess and worn-out waste from the cell.

Did you know? The Golgi was discovered by an Italian physician, Camillo Golgi. He was researching the nervous system and discovered the structure under his light microscope. The Golgi was one of the first organelles discovered because of how big it is. #Bigbody#CellBioBrawl
Proteins and lipids in the ER bud off in vesicles until they arrive at the Golgi complex. There they fuse with Golgi membranes. Then, the Golgi adds or removes pieces at the end making it suitable for transport. The product is then exported in a vesicle to its set destination.
What would Ribosomes do without us, the Golgi? Sure, they make proteins, but without our packaging and transportation services, the proteins would simply float around and not get to the organelles that need them!

Why would you vote for an organelle that can only function half the time? Chloroplasts can do their job without the sun so they are practically useless at night. Do you really want a part-time worker as the chief of Eukarya? I don't think so. Vote for Golgi

Sure the endoplasmic reticulum has a pretty important job of producing proteins, but without the Golgi how would it get the proteins to where they need to be? You might as well hand over your votes to us, the Golgi Postal service.

With ribosome dysfunction being linked to the early stages of Alzheimer's disease, we should just forget about voting for them.

You know who we can't vote for ... centrioles. Giving centrioles the power that comes with being chief of Eukarya will be detrimental as when there are too many centrioles it aids in the development of cancer.

We are the best postal service. Without us, so many things would get backtracked. There would be no lysosomes in the cell which would affect the whole cell because there would be no one to break down the extra protein materials lingering around.

Take a deeper look into some of the organelle candidates and see if they really have what it takes to be named the Chief of Eukarya.
