Cleopatra's Antique Pool, nested in the heart of Pamukkale, Turkey, Cleopatra Pools offers a unique blend of history and relaxation. Known for its historical significance and therapeutic waters. The ancient pool got this name as a legend says Queen Cleopatra once swam in this pool. Today, this ancient pool provides an unparalleled experience for travelers seeking both wellness and a connection to the past.

Cleopatra Pools, also known as the Antique Pool, is located in the ancient city of Hierapolis, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This pool is believed to have been a gift from Marc Antony to Cleopatra, the last Pharaoh of Ancient Egypt. The pool’s waters are said to have been a favorite bathing spot for the queen, who appreciated their therapeutic properties. The pool is fed by a natural spring, and the water maintains a constant temperature of around 36°C (96.8°F), making it perfect for bathing year-round. The pool is surrounded by ancient ruins, including columns and marble fragments that fell during an earthquake in 7th Century AD. The marble portico with Ionic roof and columns has fallen into the spring and are clearly visible through the crystal clear waters. These historical remnants add to the pool’s allure, providing a unique swimming experience where visitors can float among ancient relics.

The mineral-rich waters of Cleopatra Pools are known for their therapeutic benefits. The water contains calcium, magnesium, and sulfate, which are believed to aid in the treatment of various ailments, including:

Rheumatism: The warm waters help alleviate joint pain and stiffness.

Skin Conditions: The minerals in the water can improve skin health, reducing inflammation and promoting healing.

Respiratory Issues: Inhaling the steam from the hot spring can help clear respiratory passages and improve breathing.

Visitors often report feeling rejuvenated after a dip in the pool, making it a popular destination for those seeking natural healing.

I love landscape astrophotography

But what I love more is the places it takes me

Places I would likely never see, especially at night

Seeing these landscapes lit up by the Milky Way and the ocean of stars above

It’s a true adventure, and I absolutely love it
