Senior Iranian officials have told Reuters that Iran has paused strikes as long as the U.S. will, but voiced skepticism over the longevity of such a dynamic.
According to Barak Ravid, during his call with U.S. President Donald J. Trump, President Trump said he thinks that both sides have “had their fun” and he hopes that Israel will not retaliate, saying “the Iranian strikes didn’t hurt anybody. Hopefully Israel is not going to retaliate.”
Trump additionally said that they are close to a deal with Iran, despite the week’s escalations.
According to a release from U.S. State Department Deputy Spokesperson Tommy Pigott and earlier reporting by the Bulwark, the U.S. is set to release limited numbers of new U.S. passports with the visage of U.S. President Donald J. Trump to commemorate the United States’ 250th anniversary.
