WARNER MUSIC GROUP’S AFRICORI SIGNS TANZANIAN ARTIST MALAIKA GRAY

Debut single “My Fever” featuring Marioo arrives 30 October 2026

Africori, @Africori part of the Warner Music Group, has signed Tanzanian artist Malaika Gray. Her debut single, “My Fever”, featuring Marioo, will be released on Friday 30 October 2026. @marioo_tz

Co-written by Malaika Gray and Marioo and produced by Abbah Process, “My Fever” was recorded in Tanzania and brings together Afrobeats and Bongo Flava with the R&B and pop influences of an international upbringing. The official video was filmed across Dar es Salaam under the direction of Joma, with Marioo joining her on set.

Raised between Tanzania and South Africa, Malaika Gray is studying Vocal Performance and Music Business at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Her ambition is a straightforward one: to carry Tanzanian music, culture and identity to a global audience, beginning at home.

“I’ve always wanted to bring Tanzanian music into my own — the rhythms, the sounds, writing in Swahili — and to carry Tanzania with me onto global stages,” says Malaika Gray. “Working with Marioo on this song was especially meaningful. I’ve always loved his sound and what he represents for Tanzanian and East African music, so creating this together felt really special.”

Adam Tiran, @adamtiran General Manager for Africori said “Malaika has a voice and a point of view that stand out immediately. She is Tanzanian, she is globally minded, and she is only getting started. We are delighted to be building this with her.”
