Players must be taught to adapt quickly to ever changing situations during games. They have to know how to make smart decisions & capitalize on opportunities under chaotic conditions. That doesn’t happen when you teach in isolation. True learning happens in game-like situations!
PLAYERS: Discipline doesn't have to be a negative thing. Champions see discipline as an opportunity to get better. They see it as necessary to the growth process. Losers resent it because they see it as punishment. Discipline yourself and others won't have to discipline you!
Coaches: Create great relationships with parents by:
Being honest with parents
Being honest with their kids
Not discussing other players
Not accepting armchair coaching
Treating players fairly
Holding their kids accountable
Treating kids as people first
Being a great role model
The most effective coaching strategy & leadership tool is building authentic, honest relationships with your players. They have to know they can trust you, you care about them as people first & you have their best interests at heart. Have high standards but make real connections!
Girls Athletics is doing Warm Clothes and Boys Athletics is doing Toys! Let’s pull together to give these kids a Christmas they deserve. 🧡 #loveyourcommunity

Be great without being high maintenance. Show up on time, wear the right stuff, be coachable, support your teammates & give 100% every time you practice/play. High maintenance is hard. Coaches love low maintenance players who buy into the process. You’re what makes coaching fun!
