@slushyspark13@halcyon_hazel Sure lets pretend that housing prices will continue to move exactly the same as they did from 2019-2026. There was definitely no insane financial climate that caused home prices to rise. You’re just coping so hard atp lol
@slushyspark13@halcyon_hazel And owning will handcuff your financials and anchor you to the same place for 30 years. A renter is going to live a much better life over the mortgage term AND STILL won’t be giving up much financially if they invest responsibly. You’re just coping lol
@slushyspark13@halcyon_hazel Then what does this mean, buddy? And I’m sure it’s no coincidence that your very real mortgage and home price happen to be the national median. That’s totally random right?
@slushyspark13@halcyon_hazel Not if you’re arguing that it’s always financially better to buy. Also you still refuse to say where you live. Probably cuz you are making it all up huh
@slushyspark13@halcyon_hazel Then where do you live?
https://t.co/Mkgg7FM3Jx
And look at what they have to do in studies to propagandize ppl into wanting to buy. This analysis grants that owning is more expensive overall, but then makes up a fake variable to argue that owning is actually better
@slushyspark13@halcyon_hazel What actual evidence do you have that buying is more financially prudent? All you’ve said is that your mortgage is less than your friends’ rents. Which is irrelevant bc it’s in some empty town in the middle of Kentucky or somewhere else nobody wants to live
@slushyspark13@halcyon_hazel “$400,000 home in a nice neighborhood” ya exactly what I thought. You live in some random suburb. The vast majority of people live/work in cities. A home in a nice area close to a city is closer to 800k. Congrats on buying an anchor to Marysville, WA or whatever town you live in
@TJangodarkblade@sergentscrotum@ablata_at_alba@halcyon_hazel In most cities it’s much better to rent. If you have young kids or something else that makes you want to buy a home in the burbs, that’s fine. But that’s a lifestyle choice, and not a financial one.
@slushyspark13@halcyon_hazel Ya moron go and drive to another city every day for the rest of your life 🤡
What is your mortgage+property tax & where do you live?
@slushyspark13@halcyon_hazel We’ve already established that owning a home is more expensive in general. Nobody gaf abt your pretend situation. And no matter how much you pay to change your home, you’ll never change its location. I can move wherever I want. Homes = greater cost & less mobility
@TJangodarkblade@sergentscrotum@ablata_at_alba@halcyon_hazel Except in renting, those costs are built into the number we're comparing to the mortgage. If mortgages and rent are even remotely close, it's always a better financial decision to rent
@slushyspark13@halcyon_hazel Congrats you get to pay property tax and all of your maintenance costs forever. Plus you have a nightmare if you ever want to leave your area
