Police in Houston, Texas, are panicking and have started an immediate investigation as citizens continue to destroy Flock cameras across the city.
The police are struggling to make a single arrest because nobody in the city is assisting them with the investigation.
"Public distaste for the cameras is growing nationwide."
The most terrifying graph ever if you understand ecosystem dynamics.
Early blooms means pollinators starve. Which means no fruit is produced. Which means we starve.
And we've just been... allowing this to unfold for almost a century now, no mitigation bc it would hurt profits.
Jaylen Brown says 60% of NBA players lose most of their wealth because the agency model broken
“I hope I ruffle all the motherfucking feathers. The agency model isn't working. It's a bunch of players going broke when they retire. It's like 60% of players within the first 10 years are losing majority of their wealth after making millions of dollars. Living check to check. You can blame the athlete, maybe they living expenses, but they was 18 or 19 when they came into wealth and the people that represented them didn't help them handle that in no capacity or care to. After they get you and they get in your pocket, they just go get the next one and get in his pocket”
“This is what I'mma stand on. And this could be controversial, but I don't care. If you can't help me at 18 or 19 to maintain my wealth, build a legacy, and keep what I'm earning and be able to influence me on my decision making, you shouldn't be representing me in the first place. Shouldn't even be allowed to walk into my house. But we allow this agency model. They keep coming in and they keep stripping everything and we giving it right back to the same people that was giving it to us in the first place. Giving it right back”
“Something got to change. There's been people taking advantage of these 18, 19 young kids, and nobody says nothing. I think that's a part of the problem where we don't say that and we just allow that to be normalized. No, that shit ain't normal. You get millions of dollars and now you broke. And the people that's representing you can't even pick up the phone now. These people have continued to do that and they're gonna continue to do it because they see it as business and economic opportunity”
The King Who Turned Ten Million Screaming People Into Belgian Marble
Imagine the worst thing you’ve ever read about any genocide, then double it, remove every camera, and stretch it across twenty-three quiet years that Europe applauded as charity.
That was Leopold’s Congo.
From 1885 to 1908, under the guise of the “Congo Free State”—a personal fiefdom granted to Belgium’s King Leopold II at the 1884–85 Berlin Conference, where European powers casually carved Africa like a holiday roast—the rubber trade became a death machine.
Leopold, who never set foot there, styled himself a humanitarian philanthropist, founding the International African Association to “civilize” the continent.
In reality, it was plunder: the Congo Basin’s vast rubber vines (discovered in the 1890s amid the bicycle boom) fueled Europe’s industrial age, turning wild lianas into tires, hoses, and insulation.
Every month, villages had to deliver tonnes of rubber hacked from vines deep in the rainforest. Miss the quota by a kilo and the punishment was immediate: soldiers—often Force Publique mercenaries from Zanzibar or Haiti—marched in, rounded up every woman and child, locked them in pens to rot or be raped until the men delivered more.
Still short? Hands. Right hands, severed while the victims were still alive, smoked over slow fires so they wouldn’t rot on the journey to the district officer.
Children’s hands counted toward the tally; tiny, shrivelled things tossed into baskets like dried fruit.
One officer was reprimanded not for the killings, but for using bullets too freely; from then on, a severed hand had to accompany every spent cartridge as proof it had been used on a human.
Ten million people (half the entire population) vanished between 1885 and 1908, per estimates from historians like Adam Hochschild in King Leopold’s Ghost (1998) and the 1904 Casement Report, a British consular exposé that finally pierced the silence.
Some shot, some starved because they couldn’t farm under guard, some worked until their hearts burst, some simply died of grief when their children were taken.
Whole regions turned into howling wilderness. The birth rate collapsed; survivors spoke of villages where only old people and crippled remained, sitting silently because there was no one left to talk to.
And the money? Rivers of it.
Hundreds of billions in modern terms. Leopold spent it like a psychopath winning the lottery:
• He tripled the size of his palace at Laeken.
• He erected the gigantic Cinquantenaire arch in Brussels (still the postcard view).
• He built an entire seaside resort in Ostend so perfect that Belgians still stroll there on Sunday, ice cream in hand, walking on pavement paid for with smoked children’s wrists.
• He gifted his sixteen-year-old mistress a villa that looked like a wedding cake made of Congolese blood.
When the truth finally leaked out (missionaries smuggling photos of stump-armed children, baskets of hands, crucified men), Leopold just burned the state archives for five straight days.
Belgium took the colony off his hands in 1908, called it “reform,” and carried on looting for another half-century under the Belgian Congo until independence in 1960—sparking further chaos, including the CIA-backed assassination of Prime Minister Patrice Lumumba in 1961, which sowed seeds for today’s conflicts.
The king died in 1909 bedecked with medals, hailed as the great builder. His statues stood untouched until 2020.
Ten million people. More than the Holocaust and Stalin’s purges combined, in a fraction of the time.
And most of the world still thinks “Congo” means poverty, not the largest forgotten slaughter in human history.
Brussels is literally built on their bones.
Next time you see those pretty arches, listen closely.
Some cities echo with trams.
This one still echoes with screams no one bothered to record.

This is the correct policy approach to housing btw. It’s completely unsustainable for housing to be a constantly appreciating asset when it is also a basic human need.
As expected, Super Typhoon Bavi has become a leviathan in the depths of the Philippine Sea. An enormous, snow-chained truck tire of cold convection, rotating around a jaggedly toothy, 927 MBAR eye.
Look at the size of her cloud canopy in comparison to the Philippines.
PASTOR LORAN LIVINGSTON (@CentralChurchNC): “There has never been a Christian nation, and never will be. You don’t live in one now. A Christian nation wouldn’t have killed and displaced 20 million Native Americans, or thought owning slaves was pleasing to God.”
If her structure is able to withstand it, then Typhoon Bavi is about to make a run for an incredibly extreme intensity. More extreme than what she’s already achieved.
With a marine and atmospheric environment as close to perfect as you can realistically get, Bavi is in a position to join the most elite class of earthly megastorms. The ones that maximize the amount of wind power that can be theoretically extracted from the ocean’s potential heat energy in any given spot.
As we speak, the air pressure in Bavi’s eye is likely plunging well below 920 mbar, and a sub-900 mbar secondary peak is well within the realm of possibilities.
