JUST IN: Bernie Sanders unveils the “Ban Artificial Superintelligence Act,” which would outlaw AI systems that match or exceed human capabilities, with up to 20 years in prison for violations.
Investors like Paul want the immigration debate to be strictly polar because it is the only way their traitorous ideas might seem reasonable.
They paint one side as racist, backwards, economically illiterate absolutists and the other as enlightened, growth-minded cosmopolitian realists. Support for laws that protect American citizens can be dismissed as uneducated, anyone who hires immigrants or foreigners in any capacity a hypocrite.
American law should, and does, advantage American citizens. We should not have to compete on an even playing field with billions of people who almost universally don't share our values or respect our institutions, even if they are "the most qualified" or willing to work double the hours for the same wages. The men running Operation Paperclip did not think Americans should have to compete with the entire Third World, they understood that a carefully controlled amount of highly-skilled expert immigration is net good for America even when allegience is in question.
It is worth noting that even on a purely economic level, ignoring all burdens of loyalty or allegiance to your countrymen and treating America as nothing but an economic activity zone, it still doesn't make sense to say without qualification that foreigners should get any job where they are more qualified than their American counterpart.
As just one easy example out of dozens, about 20% of immigrants return home after less than five years, taking all their savings and vested shares with them. Another 20% will leave within ten years, doing the same. All the while, they will wire, on average, ~15% of their wages out of the United States economy every month. Some occupations and origins average 30%! The idea that this should be completely ignored with regard to employment and immigration policy is rampant among the same people who tell you with a straight face that limits on immigrants will destroy the American economy, that the dumb rednecks need to be saved.
I lean very libertarian and have strongly supported immigration to America for many years with countless public examples. That doesn't put me on the same side as the men who want to sell out America, and no amount of long-past accomplishment obliges any of us to listen to their lectures from the other side of the Atlantic.
@mehdirhasan@shannonrwatts If you think this is bad, imagine putting up with the terrorism you run defense for and minimize
If it was up to me, you and every other foreign terrorist supporter would have your citizenship stripped, assets seized, and sent back to whatever shithole your family spawned from
Man the Data Republican saga is so bad. She grifts off here after being “doxed” (whatever that means,” makes close to 500k in subscriptions and ad revenue on X a year while also apparently taking a government salary at the Department of War. Then completely melts down due to LLM induced psychosis, slanders her coworkers (!), refuses to delete posts and then issues a complete non apology apology claiming she was “stressed” while shilling notorious liberal lolcow James Lindsay and comparing him to Charlie Kirk. Her legion of internet fans defend her horrendous judgment and poor character, making any excuse for her narcissism. Then she just goes on like nothing happened.
How could you even write this? Beyond parody.
I hit the gym for a late night pump after an intense day of working to promote tourism to President Trump’s America.
After a vigorous lifting session with some male friends, I was on my way out when I heard two females discussing the Enes Kanter Freedom incident while shooting around on the basketball court.
“Did you see that former NBA guy got kicked out of the Sky game last night?” said Jamelle, a tall African American woman.
“Yeah, I did,” replied Steph, who was sporting a short blonde bob with a streak of purple mixed in. “I love seeing bigots thrown out of sporting events.”
I needed a cool down after my workout, so I strode to the other side of the court and grabbed a ball. I spent the next several minutes draining three after three, catching the attention of the two ladies, who stopped playing to watch the poetry in motion of my shooting stroke.
“Not bad for a man,” Jamelle shouted out after I hit a 30’ fadeaway. “I’d like to see you try that shot with me defending you, though.”
“Ladies,” I replied with a slight chuckle. “That wouldn’t be fair to you. We all know men don’t belong in women’s sports.”
“Shut up, bigot,” Steph fired back aggressively, “I can beat any man, any time. Let’s go right now. 1v1.”
I started to shake my head, but then paused for a moment.
“Look, sweetheart,” I said with a sigh. “I won’t play you 1-on-1… I’ll take you both on. Let’s go. First to 11. Make it, take it. No fouls.”
They looked at each other and nodded.
“Game on.”
Being the gentleman I am, I let them take the ball first. I crouched down, slammed my palms on the floor, and locked in.
They passed the ball around, trying to bait me into overcommitting, but I stood my ground. Steph made a strong pass to a Jamelle as she cut towards the basket from the wing.
I could see the play developing out of the corner of my eye, so I pivoted to cut her off at the rim. I timed it perfectly and gave myself an easy look to block Jamelle’s shot, but I played the percentages and decided to let her miss the layup and position myself for the rebound.
Unsurprisingly, she missed her layup, and I easily moved Steph out of the way and grabbed the board.
I brought the ball back and considered my option. The girls had decided to play some sort of a zone defense on me, rather than confront my physicality and try to smother me.
Their mistake.
I backed them both down, methodically and powerfully, planted my foot in the ground, and hit a fadeaway 15 footer to open things up.
After my third dominant post move in a row, they finally decided to respect my inside game and give me a cushion, which was my green light to rain down shots from beyond the arc with the precision of a tomahawk missile.
A few minutes later, the game was over. I won 11-0. The ladies were exasperated by the dominance they had just experienced, but were graceful in defeat.
“Ladies, did we learn anything tonight?” I said with a twinkle in my eye after we exchanged handshakes.
“Yeah,” Steph said, her voice trailing off.
“I guess… maybe men don’t belong in women’s sports…” Jamelle said with a defeated tone.
“Good on ya, Jam,” I said. “Good on ya.”
After careful consideration and reviewing the current eligibility guidelines,
I’m officially declaring myself a @WNBA prospect.
If simply declaring who you are is all that’s required, then I meet every single requirement necessary to compete in the WNBA.
My team and I have carefully examined the WNBA’s eligibility criteria and governing framework surrounding self-identification and inclusion. Based on the current guidelines, I can and am officially declaring my eligibility for the upcoming WNBA draft in April 2027.
I know my presence on the court will stir up strong opinions.
I am definitely not here to mock, make fun of, or disrespect any community or personal choices.
I’m simply asking that the current rules be applied equally to everyone — the rules that represent the very values many WNBA players and coaches have publicly advocated for.
My team and I are prepared to ensure these guidelines are applied equally, consistently, and without exception, and I look forward to the #WNBA honoring its stated principles.
See you at training camp.
