Toronto Police officer Farhan Ali has been charged following a Peel Regional Police Special Victims Unit investigation. He is facing multiple charges, including three counts of sexual assault, three counts of assault, and four counts of mischief. Police have released limited details, and the case is now before the courts. Toronto Police confirm he has been suspended with pay, and the alleged incidents occurred while off duty. At the same time, the “officervik” account — known for a strong online presence and appearing in photos with Ali — now appears to be gone. Coincidence or something more? These allegations have not been proven in court.

Today I am being hauled into court again for a fourth time.

Former Project Veritas Board Member, Matthew Tyrmand has filed a contempt motion in family court for 'domestic violence stalking' for tagging him on the internet. Tyrmand is attempting to put me in jail for mentioning him on X.

We stand by our reporting, and the original undercover report where Tyrmand says wants to kill me and brags about being a SDNY informant.

The court hearing is at 10:30am in Miami.

BITTER BREW: Tim Hortons says it's hiring Canadians again — but these GTA stores still favour foreign workers 🍁

We brought our big, beautiful billboard truck to the Toronto and Aurora locations. Our message: Don't give Tim Hortons another dollar.

Rebel News recently dropped by a couple of Tim Hortons stores in the Greater Toronto Area — one in North Toronto and one in Aurora.

We didn’t pay a visit to grab a cup of coffee or a box of Timbits. Rather, we were there to prove that Tim Hortons recently served up a whopper of a lie.

Tims, which is owned by a Brazilian hedge fund called 3G Capital, has faced growing pressure to change its hiring practices. Despite being Canada’s largest foodservice company, Tim’s has been exploiting the Temporary Foreign Worker Program to hire noncitizens.

Alas, Tims has suffered some bad PR due to these hiring practices. And so it was that Tims went into damage control mode recently. Tims' CEO publicly stated that the company is going to go back to hiring Canadian workers again.

That’s fantastic news! Except for one hitch: It’s fake news.

That’s because the CEO was lying through his teeth. Indeed, he recently personally registered as a lobbyist to keep Canada's immigration laws as loose as possible — so that Tim’s could continue exploiting the TFW Program.

While the company claims it is now hiring Canadians, Tims is STILL all-in when it comes to hiring cheap foreign labour. As if a multi-billion-dollar foodservice conglomerate needs corporate welfare in the first place!

And yes, we have the proof. It’s right there in black and white on the federal government's Temporary Foreign Worker Program website. There are some 90 active Tim Hortons jobs from coast to coast up for grabs. Clearly, Tim’s is still hiring foreigners rather than Canadians, despite their false pronouncements.

This company is shameless. Sure, Tim Hortons likes to wrap itself in the Maple Leaf. Yes, it’s delighted to sell food and beverages to Canadians. It just doesn’t like to hire Canadian citizens.

It’s outrageous. With so many people unemployed, with youth unemployment at record levels, and with the summer job becoming a thing of the past, does Tims' strategy seem ethically or morally right to you?

We wonder what the dearly departed legendary hockey player that the chain is named after would say about this sad state of affairs?

P.S. Check out the streeters we did. While many customers condemned Tim Hortons, others wanted to shoot the messenger, deeming our campaign "racist." Those people, by the way, self-identified as supporters of the Mark Carney Liberals. To which we say, golly, whatever happened to “elbows up”?

Canada's speech crackdown has already begun — speak up while you still can

I genuinely believe we are closer to a real speech crackdown in this country than at any point in modern Canadian history. And the craziest part is they’re not even hiding it anymore.

While Canadians were distracted by inflation, tariffs and housing costs, the Liberals quietly buried something deeply disturbing on page 145 of the Spring Economic Statement: amendments to the Canada Post Corporation Act expanding police powers to search and seize your mail.

Your actual physical mail.

Letters. Packages. Private correspondence.

Read that alongside the Liberals’ censorship agenda, and the pattern becomes impossible to ignore. If Canadians move sensitive conversations off social media and back to texts, phones and old-fashioned mail to avoid government snoops, Carney’s people appear to have anticipated that already.

They are tightening control over digital communication while quietly expanding state access to private correspondence at the same time.

There is no escape hatch.

And before anybody accuses me of paranoia, let me remind you what Trudeau’s government already tried to make law.

Bill C-36 would have allowed anonymous complaints over lawful speech. Somebody could accuse you of hateful expression, and you might never properly confront your accuser. The bill proposed fines of up to $20,000 paid directly to the complainant, plus another $50,000 paid to the government itself.

Over speech.

Not violence. Not terrorism. Speech somebody found offensive online.

And then came the truly chilling part: pre-crime restrictions.

The Liberals wanted courts to impose curfews, communication bans and house arrest conditions on Canadians who had committed no criminal offence whatsoever, simply because somebody claimed to fear what they might say in the future.

Not punishment for criminal conduct.

Punishment for predicted wrongthink.

Then came Bill C-63, the Online Harms Act, which proposed even more censorship infrastructure through digital safety commissions, regulators and online speech enforcement bodies.

The same activist ecosystem backed every step of it: anti-hate NGOs, censorship advocates, activist academics and taxpayer-funded organizations that increasingly treat free expression itself as the social problem to solve.

Those bills died when the election was called.

The agenda didn’t.

Now Mark Carney’s government is openly signalling it wants another crack at it. Marc Miller admitted Canada is “a couple years behind” Britain and Australia on internet regulation.

Britain.

The country where police investigate tweets and Facebook posts. Where citizens get questioned over memes and offensive jokes. Where authorities reportedly made more than 12,000 arrests tied to online communications offences in a single year.

And instead of treating that as a warning sign, Canada’s political class increasingly talks about it like it’s a model worth copying.

That should terrify every Canadian.

Because freedom rarely disappears dramatically. It disappears slowly, bureaucratically and under the language of safety and harm reduction.

And Carney may actually be more effective at advancing this agenda than Trudeau ever was because Trudeau sounded ideological and flaky. Carney sounds calm, managerial and “evidence-based,” which makes people lower their guard while the state accumulates more power over speech and information.

And independent media will obviously be among the first targets. Government-funded outlets like the CBC have very little to fear from censorship systems because they already exist safely inside the approved institutional framework. They support the government because the government supports them. The pressure lands on independent journalists, alternative media and anybody operating outside establishment narratives — because we are skeptics of government.

That’s where this road leads: criminalized dissent, self-censorship and a country where ordinary people slowly become afraid to speak honestly because the legal, financial and social consequences become too risky.

And once that fear becomes cultural, governments barely need to censor anybody anymore.

People start censoring themselves.

We need to speak up now, while we still can.

You will not lose your Canadian passport in an independent Alberta.

That's just pure fear-mongering by the "stay" side because they have no other argument.

All they have is fear and nostalgia (for a Canada that basically no longer exists).

Canada has fully recognized dual citizenship since 1977. There is no requirement to renounce Canadian citizenship when acquiring another. A Canadian-born person does not lose their citizenship simply because their province leaves Confederation. Canadian law protects citizenship by birth on Canadian soil.

Most Albertans have deep family, cultural, and economic connections across Canada. None of those ties will be broken because of independence.
