@expertretar I would have to read about what Putin tried wrt status raising. In certain cases we have a very clear causality, particularly Germany in the 30s but also the Georgian baby boom when the patriarch decided to baptize every thirdborn (increasing status)
Actually no, my Female Status Theory of fertility (girls must be raised to value motherhood, and motherhood must be high status) remains undefeated. Explains everything from Haredi TFR to the birth rise in urban areas of Germany in the 1930s to random high TFR Indian provinces.
No matter what your theory about birth rate collapse is, there’s some data point that disproves it. Japan didn’t have the pill when fertility collapsed. There are highly patriarchal countries where fertility is collapsing. It’s collapsing in countries that are still poor. It’s collapsing in places with more generous social support for families. It’s almost like a psychic alien just decided to phase humans out.
@Emma___Gordon In Bloom’s Postville, in every conversation with Haredim they ask the author how many children he had, followed by worry and consternation that he doesn’t want more (as it’s such a mitzvah)
@LOTrolhello You can make it high status again by giving special veneration, praise, and social privileges to mothers, while esteeming it as socially important, and selecting only pro-motherhood readings for female students in school. But of course religion is the most effective path here.
@LeonardvsXVII Why do you think India values motherhood today as much as it did in the past? They aren’t taught this as a value in school. And we see with the wealthy Parsi community that women who are taught to value long education eventually have sub 2 tfr (in their case, starting in 1940s)
There’s a Hindu district in India called Kishanganj with a TFR of 5. They worship like cows or something. But having a large family protects women from shame and gives her and her husband status. So they have tons of kids even with the government trying to sterilize them.
Dan found an eye patch at goodwill and now he’s an expert on pillaging ships and being a traitor to his own nation. He sides with AIPAC because they told him it’s an old pirate cry (aye aye Crenshaw). Israel didn’t even have to throw him shekels, just placed an X on a map for him
I’ve always had respect for Massie. He was always -in my opinion - wrong about his approach but he was standing on heartfelt principles and had intellectual backing. He’s a nice guy. But comments like this make me question his authenticity. The USS Liberty incident is a tragic one, but it’s an incident with a clear conclusion if one uses any objective analysis of the facts. I thought Massie was capable of objective analysis. Perhaps he still is. Perhaps we are simply witnessing another example of the irresistible incentive to jump on the bandwagon of grifters that guarantee you a specific kind of social media audience and attention that ultimately results in profits.
Howard Lutnick’s firm shorted airline stocks pre 9/11 based on rumors from a firm called “Alex Brown”. The CEO of Alex Brown until ‘98 was Buzzy Krongard, Jewish, who later became Executive Director of CIA in 2001. Former employee attests that firm kept in touch with Krongard.
Noteworthy how the Anabaptist movement coincided with the German Peasant’s Revolt. The political revolt against the rich failed and led to the slaughter of 200,000 peasants. But the religious revolt pretty much worked, they solved wealth inequality and grew their population 500x.
@gaemsae@sadreturns Been unusable since at least 2021. Decline started well before that. There are probably good esoteric image boards our there though
