I don't know, but it got to do with Barcelona and Football.

Scrolling through Twitter, you notice that effectively every big fanbase thinks there’s a big conspiracy against them, and the forces of football are actively trying to ruin them.

It’s a truly fascinating phenomenon. And this, ofc, extends well beyond football.

There must be a psychological theory for it.

Mourinho: "The referee had a PIECE OF PAPER that said Tchouaméni, Huijsen, Carreras... COULD NOT see the YELLOW"

"He knew perfectly well WHOM he could give a yellow to and whom not"

“I have 1,400 games with my ass on the bench and he knew it PERFECTLY..."

The thing about Mbappé's Ballon d'Or case is that, even if we completely ignore trophies and judge purely on individual numbers, the biggest standout is actually Kane, not Mbappé.

Kane literally surpassed Ronaldo's best goalscoring season, finishing with 73 goals for club and country, while Mbappé didn't even reach 60. In total goal contributions, Kane also leads with 80 G/A compared to Mbappé's 73.

Now if we add team achievements, the gap becomes even harder to explain. Kane won three domestic trophies, while Mbappé won none. Kane also reached the UCL semi-finals, while Mbappé was knocked out in the quarter-finals by Kane's team.

At the World Cup, both reached the semi-finals, and before the third-place match, the difference between their tournaments was only two goals.

I just don't see a strong footballing argument for placing Mbappé ahead of Kane this year. The biggest reason seems to be reputation and PR rather than what actually happened on the pitch.

That's why for me the only two who fit the criteria of both individual brilliance and team success are Lamine and Kane, maybe also Olise.

Si el Balón de Oro se diera al mejor jugador del mundo, Leo lo tendría que haber ganado cada año desde el 2009. Otro nivel.

Contrary to some reports Manchester City have not named a price to Barcelona or anyone else. They are not interested in negotiating with anybody and expect Rodri back next week. There are no “talks” and no “negotiations” with anyone.
