Rewrote this a few times to get my frustrations out. I wasn’t ready to be done yet & it just hurts man. I don’t know if anything will help tbh. But let’s show up June 9th for Destiny 2 to at least honor & show love to the incredible work of the people who built this world 🫶💔
I don't care for Marathon, and have thousands of hours in D2 across PC & Console, but anyone who will now use the shutdown as an excuse to shit on Marathon is lame.
Vote with your wallets, not by harassing the remaining devs trying to make cool shit. Get D3 with some class.
For over a decade, I lived and breathed Destiny. I gave it everything, and it gave me everything in return.
A community, a career, and memories that will bring me joy my entire life.
I’m sad, but excited to feel the full power of the community on June 9.
Destiny is special.
I've seen (& signed) the petition going around. But I think the much more powerful response if you're hoping for some kind of future for the franchise is:
Log on the week of June 9th.
Dont' get me wrong, Sony execs aren't gonna fall to their knees in tears and insta-green-light D3 or anything. But seeing SO many players out there logging on to give one last hurrah to the franchise that meant so much to them - it'll speak volumes in its own way.
At the very least, we'll have one more window of fun enjoying the last batch of new content in a game that meant so much to us. At best, it'll show how passionate the community still is, and just how badly so many of us want SOME kind of future for this franchise, no matter how long it might take to build.
I'll see you out there in June. It's gonna be one hell of a ride.
Everyone tagging me and thanking me for content I was involved with in Destiny.
Just wanna uno reverse you guys and thank YOU 🫵
Yes. You.
Without you. There was no Dream Team, Mr Fruit, Bluewestlo, Rhabby_v. You guys are what made and still makes the content special
there will be a number of changes and additions to the game with the next update (not delayed), but functionally the game will be static from here.
An awful ending for a game and series that deserved a more coherent, thoughtful conclusion, and investment in the IPs future.
It's over, I already quit a couple years back when my brother passed away but still, I spent years of my life in this curated world, it's actually really sad to see end

For almost twelve years, we have had the joy and honor to explore the Destiny universe with you all. Through all the ups and downs, surprises and triumphs, building Destiny alongside our players has been a monumental privilege. While our love for Destiny 2 has not changed, it has become clear that after The Final Shape, we have reached the time for our shared worlds, and Destiny, to live beyond Destiny 2.
As our focus turns towards a new beginning for Bungie, we will begin work incubating our next games. To that end, on June 9, 2026, we will release the final live-service content update for Destiny 2 to begin that new journey as a studio.
Though active development may be concluding, we will ensure that Destiny 2 remains playable, just as the original Destiny is today. Many changes in this final update will aim to ensure that Destiny 2 is a welcoming place for players to return to.
We’re proud of Destiny 2, the places it took us, and the legacy it has created. Because of you all, our universe is vast, built on years of shared stories, adventures, and victories. From the Cosmodrome to the Pale Heart to the Lawless Frontier, we have forged life-long memories and friendships with you all.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who made that journey with us.
From the deepest part of our hearts, thank you, and we'll see you in the stars.
Just watched Smile for the first time and honestly, such a disappointing film
I can see the appeal, but I couldn't bite, the film felt okay in the first half but past that it's pacing was awful, and you could have cut half the film and would have been the same experience
Tom Kane, best known for his voice acting in animation like Star Wars: The Clone Wars, The Power Puff Girls, The Wild Thornberrys, and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, has died at 62. https://t.co/MTCJZDvLzw
