I added this to my collection today, an amazing full ticket PSA 8 of Dwight Gooden from his 1985 triple crown winning pitching season leading the league in Wins, ERA and K's, and this was also his first career HR hit by him. Doc is one of my all-time favorites! @GoodenCollector@DocGooden16@metsrewind@RetroCardSnaps@GaryCarterKid@rosenbaumlaw@Mets
As I've mostly run out of playing days cards of Dwight Gooden to collect, this year I focused a little more on print errors. Here's one in today's mail, which is likely my last card of Doc for 2025 -- 1986 Quaker Granola bars with a drastic miscut on the back.
@TJisonline That would be great but I think that's the scanner settings making it appear with a brighter in finish. I have all of his Tiffanys and it's definitely not that. In hand, it looks/feels just like his regular Topps.
I've got several blank-backed cards of Dwight Gooden. But unless one of his 1984 cards surfaces with one, this 1985 Topps in today's mail might be as good as it gets.
One of the bigger Dwight Gooden pickups this year for me is this 1997 Flair Showcase Legacy Collection. Numbered to only 100 made, this is a tough find.
I've been chasing some more of the error cards of Dwight Gooden since I'm running out of his playing day cards to collect. Here's a great pair of 1987 Topps cards of Gooden and Ken Oberkfell. Each has the wrong back. Gooden's front has Oberkfell's back and vice versa.
Been a while since I added a rare playing days card of Dwight Gooden. But I finally got my hands on the unlicensed 1989 Michael Paraskevas card of Doc. I don't know how many sets were made in 1989 but I believe 1988 was limited to only 250. Glad to finally get a hold of one!
Man, it's been a while since I posted a new Dwight Gooden card. But I recently picked up this 1990 Score Promo card. The Score promos show no 1989 stats and no complete major league stats on the back. Really tough find.
I honestly thought I had all of the Dwight Gooden Star cards from the late 1980s and early 1990s. But this 1988 promo is one I realized I didn't have. Now I do!
To date, I've got four of the five Dwight Gooden variations from the 2001 Pacific baseball set. Shown here are the base card, the Premier Date (/36), the Retail LTD (/85), and in last week's mail, the Extreme LTD (/45). The Hobby LTD (numbered to 70) is the only one missing.
@GoodenCollector never realized there was a variation on the ‘83 Lynchburg card, first one was definitively signed in ‘83, the other signed in the ‘90s. Check out the player info placement on the back. It’s shifted up on the ‘90s signed card. A 2nd printing?
Bought two of these by accident -- the autographed Dwight Gooden card that apparently came with the complete 1986 Renata Galasso sets of Doc. Decided to just give this one away. Follow and Retweet / RT for a chance to win. Will draw a winner on 5/31.
