"I used to love tinkering with computers, now I love tinkering with cameras. I think this thing is indispensable to me personally. It takes up a lot of my energy, but it gives me a lot of joy. It's not really about how perfect the final picture is, it's just that the process brings me joy. If I didn't have this hobby, I would have a lot of free time and wouldn't know what to do. I really like the work of Alan Schaller; he's more of a black-and-white pics with documentary type. Actually, I also like to shoot these kinds of stories now. It's still starting with the scenery I see, recording the scenery is the most basic thing."

Q1: If you were the photographer today, what kind of cover would you shoot?

ZLH 🚀: I photograph myself? What kind of cover shoot would I do... I prefer wider shots and not close-ups.

Q2: How would you direct the model? What poses would you ask them to do?

ZLH 🚀: You've really stumped me😅 I don't even know how to pose myself😅 If I were the one behind the camera, I'd probably need a model who's really good at posing on their own. I'd just be responsible for pressing the shutter.

Q3: If you like something, you act on it, and once you do, you do it to the fullest. Besides that pursuit of perfection, what else has photography helped you discover about yourself?

ZLH 🚀: That pursuit of perfection you mentioned is also part of my personality. It's like when I used to solve math problems. If I didn't know why a particular step was necessary, it would really bother me. It's the same with cameras. If I can't understand why a certain exposure can produces such a perfect effect, it would really bother me too. I have to ask why. Only after all those "why(s)" form a rough logic in my mind, I can comfortably continue.

Q3: At this stage of your life, how do you balance "enjoying the moment" and "capturing it right away"?

ZLH 🚀: I came across the movie "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" before. I haven't reached that state they have in the film. There's a scene where they see a landscape, and they say, "I don't want to use a camera to disturb this scenery that's appearing before me. I want to enjoy it."

At my current stage, I probably still want to record it first and then enjoy it slowly afterward. But I can understand how they feel. When you see a really special landscape, you really do forget everything you had planned beforehand.

Q4: If you were to look back at your photographic works ten years from now, what would you most like to see?

ZLH 🚀: I think it's the same as listening to music. For example, when you were a student, if there was a song you kept on repeat ten years ago, then when you listen to it again ten years later, you'll remember the state of mind you were in at that time.

I think photography is the same. When you look back, ten years later, at a pic you took by pressing the shutter ten years earlier, you'll remember what was going through your mind at the moment you pressed the shutter. That sense of nostalgia will be much stronger.

해협포럼(海峡论坛)은
국가 차원에서 주도하는 양안(중국·대만) 최대 규모의
민간 교류 행사예요.

매년 양안 각계 대표들이 모이는 중요한 행사이고,
특히 본회의장(주회의장)은 행사 전체의 핵심 무대라서
격이 엄청 높습니다.

예전에도 연예인들이 참석하긴 했지만
대부분 아래 객석의 귀빈석에 앉거나,
문화 관련 분과 포럼에서 몇 마디 하는 정도였어요.

많아야 부대 행사에서 공연 한두 개 하는 수준이었죠.

그런데 젊은 배우 신분으로 본회의장 무대에 올라
정식 연설을 한 사례는 동세대 연예인들 중에서도 거의 없습니다.

이 자리를 맡게 된 것도
공식 측에서 여러 단계의 심사를 거쳐 선정한 결과예요.

✦ 이미지가 바르고
✦ 평판이 안정적이며
✦ 대만 지역에서도 인지도와 대중 기반이 있고
✦ 이런 공식적인 큰 무대를 소화할 수 있어야 함
