The world ended on July 4th, 2012 when we discovered the Higgs Boson, the “God Particle” during a run of the Large Hadron Collider at CERN.
Technology moved drastically forward, seemingly without us, while humans rely on it instead of control it.
Creativity and ingenuity have ceased. There is no decade to decade changes in culture ie music, fashion, movies. You could distinctly tell the 1900s to the 2000s in pictures, film and the popular music as tidy 10 year blocks that were completely different from the next 10. It’s the example of The Office tv show, the American version. It ran for what 17 years? And you cannot distinguish around what year it is aside from the actors’ ages.
Somewhere around July 2012 is where we culturally just.. stopped advancing. We moved towards automation, simulation, music that no one can latch onto or recognize, no songs of the summer.. reboots and sequels of old movies(with the original cast) out of a desperate need for nostalgia. All the while feeling like time is accelerating
We broke something that day. We all feel it unraveling and know something huge is around the corner.
@Chrith25441@lamonkeydazunew@GX4600@nypost And about 1% of that was actually spent on the students. School districts in major metros, especially within the actual city limits are notoriously grifty, corrupt and backwards shit holes as they work directly with city council/mayors to line pockets.
@JarrettBoswell@CJPullUp@nypost Sure he did. Words were exchanged, but Austin wasn’t going to kill him over it. Only one zero impulse control
mutt went to the track meet ready to kill.
@LegatusdiRoma@ImAmericanRonin@OleMurica In our lifetimes, they will begin to give many fucks. I don't see a clean resolution to this, and white folks are the wrong ones to press this hard.
@ImAmericanRonin@OleMurica They are trying to defend that 14 year old mutt who brandished on the shop owner's kid and got smoked. Why the f is a 14 year old even carrying a loaded 9mm, and where did he get it? The knife is sometimes a normal carry for a teen, but lose it at a school function ffs.
@NunButTheTide@Dcent247@OleMurica Like having a gun when you get caught idk.. dealing drugs or something. It enhances a simple drug charge into felony. Showing up to a school function with a weapon is the provacative act, not anything Austin did with words.
@itsedsilha@Timcast Some fans have to travel *much* farther in terms of miles or minutes to get from the namesake city to the stadium. SF to Santa Clara for example is an atrocious drive going through San Jose. Hammond will be on the way out of the highest density areas.
It really was not about Mexicans/Latino folk to me, heck I worked with them for years and have deep connections with some. It was more, we have a leaky border and what came over was mostly 3rd worlders from the roughest parts of Africa, Asia and the Caribbean.
That has to come to an end, and we must also limit legal immigration to something more maintainable to preserve American culture and heritage, and JOBS.. before we cross a threshold when those are all lost forever.
Then the question of dual citizenship, dual loyalties being allowed to not only participate in our political and lobbying process, but carry immense control. Specifically one tiny country in the Levant holding the marionette strings for quite some time now.
Otherwise the rest of the list doesn’t really bug me. Thanks for showing up. Keep dishing out these nuggets often.
@itsedsilha@Timcast Indiana is going to rake tax revenue from every cent of overpriced food, drink, merch at the events.. and all local hospitality business around the complex benefit. Property values will rise, new construction and permits, new bars and restaurants, hotels etc = more tax revenue.
@RICOB451516@ZeroChillSports@ChicagoBears This is exactly how it’s done. But heck you’re that close, why not move over there? Property values are about to rip with the stadium coming in. The traffic and everything will suck, but I have friends in South Philadelphia near the sports complex and it’s lovely.
