🎓 Google AI Guide
Foundation 04 • AI for Writing & Communicating
If you’re still drafting and refining longer pieces of writing entirely inside a regular AI chat, Gemini Canvas can make the process much easier.
Instead of just explaining it, I tested it.
I used Canvas to build a book from scratch. 😅📖
🧵👇
If you claimed Google AI Plus, don’t just open Gemini and type:
“Create content for me.”
Try this instead 👇
Before generating anything, give Gemini:
• What you’re creating
• Who it’s for
• The goal
• The platform
• The style you want
Then ask it for 3 different directions first.
Example prompt:
I’m creating a [post/project] for [audience] about [topic].
The goal is [what I want people to understand/do].
It will be posted on [platform].
Give me 3 different creative directions I could take.
Don’t create the final content yet. Let me choose a direction first.
Pick the best direction.
Then continue:
Direction → Draft → Review → Refine → Final
You usually get better results when you guide Gemini through the process instead of asking for everything in one prompt.
Save this and try it on your next project.
Most AI writing workflows break before the writing even starts.
You get an output that’s almost right…
…and immediately use it as context for the next step.
Now every mistake compounds.
Here’s the loop I started using instead 👇
Generate → Judge → Second opinion when useful → Refine → Approve → Carry forward
Title not right?
Don’t build the structure yet.
Structure feels repetitive?
Don’t start drafting.
Fix the current decision before you build on top of it.
Don’t just claim the free offer and leave it.
I’ve already shared practical ways to use Gemini for studying and research, so check my previous posts.
I’ll also be sharing content-creation workflows soon.
If you run into any difficulty with the offer or with Gemini, feel free to ask. I’ll help where I can.

Final step: Activate it
Complete the subscription and confirm that Google AI Plus is active. ✅
The current student offer must be redeemed by:
December 31, 2026.
Step 5: Check before you subscribe
Back on Google One, make sure Plus still shows:
₦0 for 12 months
before confirming.
You’ll still need a valid payment method even though the first 12 months are ₦0.
In our test, a Verve card worked.
After the free year, the plan becomes ₦7,700/month unless you cancel.
Your renewal date will depend on when you activate the offer.
Step 4: Wait for verification
After uploading, SheerID reviews your document.
Ours changed from:
“We’re reviewing your documents”
to:
“Congrats, you’ve been verified.” ✅
Once verified, tap Continue to return to Google.
Step 3: Prove you’re currently enrolled
SheerID will ask you to upload a document showing you’re currently enrolled.
Here’s what worked for us:
We uploaded a recent school-fees receipt from the current academic year.
And it was accepted. ✅
Step 2: Start student verification
After selecting Plus, Google takes you to SheerID.
Enter your:
• Country
• University/institution
• First & last name
• Date of birth
• Email address
Make sure your details match your school records.
We chose the free Plus
For this guide, we picked Google AI Plus because it’s completely free for 12 months.
You still get expanded access for:
• Studying & research
• Writing & exam prep
• Content creation
• Image & video generation
• 400 GB storage
For most students, that’s already a lot for ₦0.
If you need higher limits + 5 TB storage and can afford it, you can choose the 75%-off Pro offer instead.
Step 1: Open the student offer
Go directly to:
https://t.co/mO97d3xVPS
If you’re already signed in to your Google Account, the link may take you straight to the University student exclusive offers page.
If not, sign in with your personal Google Account first.
You should see two student offers:
Google AI Plus
• ₦0/month for 12 months
• 400 GB storage
Google AI Pro
• ₦7,100/month
• 75% off for up to 4 years
• 5 TB storage
Thousands of Nigerian students missed this last year.
Don’t miss it again.
Google’s student AI offer is back.
Nigerian university students can get Google AI Plus FREE for 12 months.
I helped another student complete the full process and documented every step.
Here’s exactly how to claim the free offer 👇
Eligibility: 16+ and currently enrolled at a higher-education institution in Nigeria.
I documented the reusable prompts I used at each stage, with screenshots from the real experiment, including how I moved from Gemini Canvas to ChatGPT Work for the finished book and landing page.

That principle works far beyond books.
Reports.
Articles.
Proposals.
Guides.
Long-form documents.
The prompts will change.
The collaboration loop doesn’t have to.
Don’t just claim the free offer and leave it.
