While many of us were resting over the School break, Georgia spent her holidays competing in the Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) State Titles Competition, placing 1st overall and being named the WAG National Level 4 (Senior) ACT State Champion. Well done, Georgia!

With recent wet weather, Year 7 have enjoyed interval workouts in our wet weather classroom involving a range of movements to get the blood pumping. These included squats, squat jumps, lunges, push ups, planks and calf raises, each followed by a ‘dance off’ for active recovery!
In Year One and Two Christian Inquiry this term students have been learning about being part of God’s family. Students made models of wells to remind them of the story of Jacob and how he chose to do what was right even when it was difficult.

Year 7 students completed a self-portrait using photography and personal expression to communicate aspects of their personality. They considered how colour, texture and line can create a striking composition whilst experimenting with different colour schemes. Don’t they just pop!
The Year Four Instrumental Program is an integral part of the TASG music program. Each student learns a concert band instrument all year under the direction of our peripatetic tutors. This term the students have enjoyed learning to play as an ensemble.
Year One have been learning about livings things; exploring and researching habitats and even made a diorama of a habitat. They planned and designed their diorama, listed the materials they used and wrote a reflection on what could be improved and/or changed.

Years Nine and Ten Commerce students participated in a Mock Trial as part of their Assessment on the Core Topic Law, Society and Political Involvement. The case was Jack and the Beanstalk. #Googong#GoogongSchool#TASG
Years Four and Six ventured on a Reconciliation Walk in Queanbeyan today. The theme this year is ‘More than a Word’, students reflected on reconciliation as a journey for all Australians – as individuals, families, communities, and importantly as a nation. #Googong#GoogongSchool
All the best on Camp at Youth Works in Shoalhaven, Years Four, Five and Six! Students will be doing a range of activities including canoeing, bushwalking and other team initiatives to help them grow in confidence, initiative and resilience.

Congratulations to both Junior and Senior School students who finished in the top Six at the SASSA Cross Country Carnival last week. A big thank you also to Mrs Gervink, Mrs Harrison and Ms McCosker who supported the students at the Carnival.

Year Eight students have been designing a tiny house. Students had to answer questions on perimeter, area and volume specific to their own designs, as well as demonstrating their understanding of ratios when creating the household furniture items.
