'This is Mina's family. I apologize for causing trouble to the public this time.

On August 9th, I was able to bring my daughter home. It was her 26th birthday that day. I regret not being able to fulfill my promise to celebrate her birthday with her.

My daughter ended her life because she was hurt and denied the ability to live by the criticism she received on social media. Can you imagine a beloved family member suddenly disappearing from your life? I hope that more people will consider how everything they post—words, photos, videos, et cetera—are perceived by others.

Finally, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all the friends who have been friends with my daughter, to everyone who supported and encouraged her and the friends who have helped our family through this difficult time.

To my Korean brothers and sisters, thank you for loving me. Even though it was only for a short time. It was fun, friends! Let's meet again.'

There was something I wanted to tell you today, so I ended up writing this letter.

From my teenage years until now, I have spent so many years together with JYP, but now I’m going to leave JYP and try to make a new beginning somewhere else.

Leaving a place that I’m familiar with is frightening, but having the members and ONCE, who have always believed in me, gave me the courage to take this step.

To our members and ONCE, whom I can’t express enough gratitude toward with words, and to everyone at JYP who helped me grow, I sincerely want to say thank you.

There is one thing I especially want to tell ONCE. Although I’m moving to a new home and beginning a new challenge, TWICE, which is the greatest center of my life, will remain unchanged just as it is now. As a member of TWICE, standing in front of ONCE will always be my first priority.

I will sincerely put my heart into every step forward—from continuing my journey as the Jeongyeon of TWICE whom you have loved, to the new challenges that Jeongyeon will face in the future—and I will prepare for each one step by step.

We've donated 167,200 KRW to the Blue Tree Foundation in memory of Mina the ENHYPEN Fan who took her life recently due to Cyberbullying.

We're sharing this because we hope that you can join the movement to combat such things.

The Blue Tree Foundation specializes in fighting School Violence and Cyberbullying.

BTF has also called for anti-cyberbullying measures at UN side event before.
