Ian Wright “It makes me uncomfortable how Martinelli is being treated. I know that he hasnt been spoken to or know what is going on. I think he has done enough to be treated with respect. I hope it works out right for Gabi”
Arsenal are perfectly entitled to try and sell Gabriel Martinelli.
But after seven years of good service, Martinelli is entitled to expect some transparency from #AFC too.

I get Nwaneri is hale-end, but Martinelli was more than him to me at least. That solo goal vs Chelsea, crucial goals against Big 6 and he literally saved us millions so that we can go and spend on Rice, Eze etc. He's at par with Saka and Odegaard to me.
Martinelli hate is so forced because yes his performances haven’t been great but he’s contributed very key g/a in the past 3 years. Not to mention how much of a pillar he was before that. Practically a hale ender, dies for the badge, loves the club. Deserves so much better
I know Martinelli has not been that consistent in performances but the level of disrespect he is getting from the fanbase is such a shame.
I hope he goes where he'd be appreciated.
watching him properly. He's the ideal player for fans.
He should be regarded by Arsenal fans as highly as ESR, and Saka.
It's clear we need to sell players and that's never easy with such a popular squad, but we are going to regret letting him go.
Martinelli is a litmus test for Arsenal fans.
He was a shining light at awful times for this club. In recent years affected by injuries and confidence he hasnt once hidden, has never complained about his roles on the bench and playing basically as a left back at times.
He has been the ultimate servant. Regardless of whether you think he still has/had a lot to give at Arsenal (which I sincerely believe he does), no one should be happy that it might not work out for him here.
Arsenal fans mocking and criticising him, have not been
One of the reasons I’m still fine with us having Noni as Saka backup is that his nuisance value.
His outputs are absolutely depressing but you can’t underestimate his outlet threats. No full back is having a great day playing against Noni cz he is a threat with his pace and dribbles…..it just might not result into anything but as a defender you still can’t allow him get that comfortable. That’s why I call it a Nuisance value….might not be great for us (outputs), but its also not good for the opponents!!!
Totally understandable for a player of this quality. I am a little concerned / miffed about where some of these stories could be coming from for players who have been very committed and done right by Arsenal if I am honest.
Not sure you read the article rather than the social copy, where it says Chelsea and Manchester United were offered MLS. That's what I reported yesterday. The player can want to stay/Arsenal can maintain they didn't do anything directly (key word, and plausible deniability to a degree), and it can still be true two clubs were offered the player.
I've been addicted to this stupid platform for a long time, but the amount of fucking fake quotes I've been seeing lately might be the final I'm straw. It's infuriating.
🚨Jamie Carragher on Mikel Arteta saying he wants to build a dynasty at Arsenal:
🗣️ Jamie Carragher: “I have to be honest, I don’t know where that speech is coming from. I listened to the interview and then I looked at the squad, and I’m struggling to see the players who can build a dynasty at Arsenal. A dynasty isn’t created by talking about it it’s created by winning consistently.
“He said everything he’s done in pre-season has been about finding ways to win more, but so far they’ve played two and lost two. That’s not the end of the world because it’s pre-season, but you can’t talk about creating a dynasty while ignoring the performances on the pitch. There are other teams preparing for the season, winning their games and improving, and they’re not making those kinds of declarations.
“I also think winning the Premier League has changed the expectations around Arsenal. They now have to prove they can sustain it. Last season they relied heavily on set pieces and moments rather than consistently dominating games through their football. If they want to defend the title, they have to show more quality, more creativity and more control.
“I don’t expect this season to simply follow the same script as the last one. The other clubs have strengthened, the pressure is higher and everyone knows what Arsenal are trying to do now. If Arteta genuinely wants to create a dynasty, then the next step isn’t another speech it’s winning trophies year after year.”
Steve Round on Martinelli:
“Edu, I love him. Honestly I love him. He just needs time, that’s all. He is a great kid, trains everyday like it’s his last day on Earth. He’s a diamond, he really is”.
Football can be very cruel to fans, especially Arsenals fans over the years. Frankly, life is too short to worry about something like this as a football fan.
If we manage to sign Vinicius Jr. on a five-year deal, what happens when we eventually need to renew his contract and he demands a significant wage increase?
Wouldn’t that potentially disrupt Arsenal’s wage structure?
