The #Gophers have swept North Dakota in men's hockey and won the Floyd of Rosedale in the same week for the second time.

On Oct. 25, 1980, the hockey team capped a sweep with a 4-3 overtime win in Grand Forks and the football team beat Iowa at home, 24-6.

Wyatt Cullen is the seventh NCAA-era player to score his first three #Gophers goals in the same game and the first since Jimmy Snuggerud on Oct. 7, 2022.

Minnesota's last hat trick versus North Dakota was Casey Hankinson's four-goal game on Nov. 9, 1996.

Wyatt Cullen is the first player whose first #Gophers goal was scored on the power play since Garrett Pinoniemi on Jan. 27, 2023 versus Michigan State.

Cullen is the 125th Gopher to score his first goal with the program at 3M Arena at Mariucci.

Brodie Ziemer is the 49th #Gophers player to score 20-career goals at 3M Arena at Mariucci.

Half of Ziemer's goals at 3MAM have come against top-10 opponents and six have come against foes ranked third or higher.

Before Christian Humphreys, the last time a player scored his first two-career #Gophers goals in the same game versus North Dakota was on Oct. 31, 1997 when both Aaron Miskovich and Erik Westrum did it in a 6-5 win.

Dylan Mills also scored his first Gopher goal in that contest.

Brett Larson is the first #Gophers head coach to earn his first victory with the program against North Dakota.

Minnesota has won nine-straight home openers and Gopher head coaches are 5-0-1 in their last six home debuts.

With his first tally in maroon and gold, Tanner Henricks becomes the first Minnesota defenseman to score a goal this season and gives the #Gophers their first lead of 2026-27.

Two of Henricks' four college goals have been scored against North Dakota.

Tarin Smith will make his #Gophers debut tonight, playing in his first game in 204 days.

Including playoffs, Smith racked up 46 goals and 199 points in 234 games over five seasons for the WHL's Everett Silvertips. Smith was also a +136, including a CHL-best +65 in 2025-26.
