The culture of rape is the social environment that allows sexual violence to be normalized and justified, fueled by persistent gender inequalities and attitudes about gender and sexuality. Naming it is the first step to dismantling rape culture.

Young men as active bystanders is alive and well. I think we all know the feeling of turning away and telling ourselves that this isn't our business so examples of another choice should be shared.

Boys will understandably stumble on their way to find where they need to be. Remind them that there is more than one way to challenge stereotypes about Black men’s propensity for violence, and one of the methods is to stand as an example of nonviolence.
