@jeremyct It sounds like your friend's dad doesn't trust that your friend will be able to look after him when he gets older. Maybe the lake house was part of his retirement plan all along. Nothing wrong with that.
SAVE AMERICA!!!! πΊπΈ
I just listened to an Iranian woman who risked everything to warn the West about the dangers of Islamist extremism.
She described what she believes is a long-term ideological movement that extends far beyond one country and urged Americans not to ignore the warning signs.
Whether you agree with every word or not, dismissing firsthand testimony from people who fled authoritarian religious regimes is a mistake.
History has a habit of punishing societies that refuse to listen to those who escaped what others are just beginning to face.
My video isnβt about fear. Itβs about paying attention before consequences arrive.

I feel like we might be at a point of no return. Everywhere I look I see societal decay. Right and wrong used to be black and white β now everything's just gray. So many bad things are treated like they're no big deal anymore.
The people we're taught we can trust β teachers, policemen, people of authority β you used to think you could trust them. Now most of them are guilty of doing the wrong thing. I used to believe government and politicians were supposed to be doing good for everybody, but I was young and naive. These days a lot of them are just doing good for themselves. You see it all the time β look at what's happening in California and Minnesota. It's just everywhere now.
People on every level are dishonest. They lie, cheat, and steal, and it's becoming more acceptable. People turn a blind eye and they're afraid to call it out. That's terrible for society.
I'm not a religious person. My parents never took me to church, but they taught me right from wrong. We used to have TV shows and movies that taught us morals β Sesame Street, Davey and Goliath, The Andy Griffith Show, The Brady Bunch. They taught us how to be better humans. But now it's all gray instead of black and white. Movies and TV today are more interested in pushing ideologies than teaching us how to be good people.
I messed up bad myself β I was a drug addict for years and did a lot of things I regret. But when I got sober, I had an awakening. I'm not perfect, but I try to be as honest as I can. I try to do the right thing and look for opportunities to do something nice for people, instead of always trying to gain the advantage.
Most people now are just looking out for themselves, not for others. It's all "me, me, me" β and that's probably why people stopped having kids. That's really bad for society. Parents aren't doing their job either. Many don't bother setting a good example. They leave it to teachers to teach their kids basic morals and manners. You see kids with no manners, no please, no thank you, cutting in line, getting away with shit they know is wrong.
It's the little things too. People litter like it's nothing. Here in Ecuador, I get gringo priced all the time. The store clerks all look at each other before telling me how much, trying to hustle me. So many people are just on the grift.
Trust is shot. Only 17% of Americans trust the government to do what's right most of the time. In Canada, only 17% of people trust politicians. Only about a third of us believe most people can be trusted. And 56% of Americans say the country's moral values are poor.
I'm telling you, we need to get back to the teachings of Christ. Whether you're Christian, Muslim, Jewish or whatever β the stuff Jesus taught is powerful. We need to be more like Jesus. Don't lie, don't steal, don't cheat, don't be an asshole.
It's not okay. And instead of calling it out, people are afraid to tell the truth when they see something that's wrong.
