Trouble’s blowing in from the mainland & it’s renewable.
When a wind energy project is proposed for a quiet island, the locals have mixed feelings.
Cue chaos, charm, and community politics in this witty novel:

@Creamofthe1960s Always impressed by his football talent but even more impressed by his humanity reaching out to the vulnerable in society. If ever a Knighthood should be conferred on someone, it is this guy.
@Mession01@Kane362@M_Simonyan Yes, there is a lot of truth in that as many are learning to their cost. One can only hope for a better future for all. Best wishes.
@Mession01@Kane362@M_Simonyan Personally, I feel neither is without fault, as is so often the case in international relations. But for me, invading another sovereign state is not the way to deal with things. It’s only innocent people that suffer when that happens sadly.
@Mession01@Kane362@M_Simonyan I think this article is quite revealing, but needless to say like all, is open to interpretation depending on what side you view it from. The fact remains. Putin chose (despite all the public denials and lies) to invade a sovereign nation state:

@RaphalHOAREAU1@M_Simonyan Feel free to indulge your viewpoint but the truth is there for everyone to see. I need not try and convince anyone fortunately.
@RaphalHOAREAU1@M_Simonyan Anyone killing anyone is wrong, whatever side they are on. Sadly, Putin invaded a sovereign nation despite a commitment not to do so and has committed many war crimes. Innocent people are losing their lives each day. That’s not propaganda but a fact we can all see each day.
@Kane362@M_Simonyan As I said to someone else. If you can’t see with your own eyes what is happening, nothing I can say, or nothing you can witness, will change your mind. Believe what you want but the relentless taking of innocent lives is unforgivable.
@_edgeofreason_@M_Simonyan Oh I don’t think so. If you can’t see it then nothing I can say or nothing you can witness with your own eyes, can convince you otherwise.
Once again Putin enhances his image and legacy as the basest of war criminals. Evil on a grand scale: Ukraine rescuers pull dead from rubble after Russian strikes kill 18 people https://t.co/RF8ANbxSmE
There was something particularly fitting today in visiting the grave of, and paying tribute to, the great author, Compton MacKenzie, who wrote so many wonderful novels which still entertain us, (eg. Whisky Galore, Monarch of the Glen, etc).
@logicthoughtX@jacksonhinkle Russia broke its international agreement and invaded a sovereign country. That’s why other countries then flocked to join NATO. But you believe what you choose if it makes you feel better about the killing of innocent civilians. However, nothing justifies it.
@Brazy_2020@jacksonhinkle If that was indeed the case it would be morally repugnant too. But multiplying atrocities on all sides is not the way, whether you’re Russian, American or whatever side of the fence someone is on.
@logicthoughtX@jacksonhinkle Believe what you will but the international community knows that’s nonsense. Thousands of innocent lives and Russian servicemen too, lost, and for what. One man’s ideology of empire.
