GCPD Headquarters.
The Commissioner rakes his hand through his whitening hair as he blinks hard at the pile of paperwork upon his desk.
He had spent most of the morning on this shit. “Damn waste of time…”
The city falls into ruin, and he’s doing paperwork. He reached -
- loose ends.
“Hey @MrCorrupty, he shouted towards the door. Get me the latest on @FedoraFanatic. I want him watched since that botched release. Also, we need to keep eyes on @BirdOfBanditry’s fencing operations. Cobblepot’s been quiet.” He sipped that damn cold coffee again. -
@ReneeMMontoya@BludhavensOwn - under his breath with a slight shake of his head. He couldn’t afford to lose another cop—especially a good one.
He looked through the window of his office, glancing about at the precinct before leaning back in his chair, at a loss for what to do...
@ReneeMMontoya@BludhavensOwn - instantly relaxed the old cop.
“Hmm....” he muttered with a nod, taking another long draw before exhaling. As he did so, he noticed a folder upon the corner of his desk.
He reached forward with a forefinger and flipped it open, scanning the contents.
“Shit.” He muttered -
@FedoraFanatic@lamVengeance@MrCorrupty@SonOfBatman Gordon opened the door for Batman, knowing he should stay out of his way. He hadn’t seen him like this before.
“You know who he’s talking about?” He spoke aloud to anyone who may be listening.
@MrCorrupty@GordonOfGotham@FedoraFanatic The lights within the interrogation room faded then went out completely.
Within moments, they flickered to life again, revealing the dark, ominous figure of the Batman standing like a spectre at the other end of the room.
@MrCorrupty@FedoraFanatic@lamVengeance As they made their exit from the interrogation room, Gordon waved off the officer, motioning him to remain outside.
“Leave him.” He spoke.
@FedoraFanatic@MrCorrupty@lamVengeance As if this new freak couldn’t get any worse, he had to add that. Gordon’s grip tightened upon Bullock’s coat, now more bothered by the Hatter than worried about Bullock’s lashing out.
After another moment or two he shook his head and stepped forward, reaching forward with -
@FedoraFanatic@MrCorrupty Gordon shuddered, his jaw tightening at the sick man’s words.
“Jesus Christ...” He muttered, placing his hand upon Bullock’s shoulder again—just in case he decided to lash out at the man again.
@MrCorrupty@FedoraFanatic “Bullock!” Gordon shouted, reaching for the detective to pull him away from the Hatter. “Not this way!”
He was impressed with how the Detective had connected the dots, seemingly shoving the mystery, but he couldn’t let him lose his cool.
Gordon looked at Tetch, eyes narrowing.
@lamVengeance@MrFacePaint Gordon didn’t even have to turn around. He knew Batman was already gone.
“Thanks old friend...” He spoke as continued to smoke the cigar.
-CLACK-
The sound of a switch being thrown interrupts a quiet night as the signal is activated on the roof of the GCPD.
Gordon had a love/hate relationship with the signal.
On one hand, it kept criminals in line, knowing -he- was close. On the other, it alluded to the -
@lamVengeance@MrFacePaint “Yea I was afraid of that.” Gordon spoke as he walked toward the ledge and looked past the package and out toward the city.
“I’m getting too old for this...”
