Told this story before but I want to tell it again. I moved here 17 years ago from Ontario. I left all my family and friends behind to take a job I've never done, in a landscape I've never been in, moved in with people I've never met.

I remember moving from place to place in Ontario, trying to find better work, better people, a better life and a better culture but could never find it.

But I finally found it here in Alberta.

When people say we don't have a culture, I can distinctly tell you that we do. I remember on my holidays I would do 125 km canoe trips in Algonquin Park with nothing but my canoe and backpack. And any friend I could try and find to drag along with me. They all thought I was crazy for wanting to do this on my holidays. I thought they were crazy because they didn't want to do it.

When I moved to Alberta I realized I was always an Albertan - I was just born in the wrong province. We do have culture out here and it's evident every day, every minute, every second I look around. I have nightmares about moving back to Ontario. I truly truly do.

Some people of Alberta do not understand what the East is like. People out East do not understand what Alberta is like. We are very different and it's time we go our separate ways. I don't want Alberta to become the place I fled. I don't want that for anyone, not even the people who call us derogatory names.

The East is admittedly striving for mediocrity (and they can have it). Alberta will strive for greatness.

In October we have a choice. This is the only vote in your life that will truly matter. Vote option 2 and send a clear message to the East that's impossible to ignore. This vote matters.

Four years ago I was a healthy 35 year old mother.

Then I woke up paralyzed after a Covid vaccine.

Today, I have two separate neurologists who have confirmed the connection through medical records and recorded discussions. I was offered Medical Assistance in Dying multiple times. I am still fighting every day to survive financially.

For four years I have spent countless hours fighting not just for myself, but for other vaccine injured Canadians who have fallen through the cracks of the system.

Mark Carney basically announcing a bail out for Vancouver and area developers;

Too many completed condos sitting empty. Metro Vancouver alone around 2,500 finished units are standing vacant with no buyers.

They don't want to sell at a loss, they can't afford to hold those empty units indefinitely.

Greed and horrible municipal planning has led to building overpriced shitboxes that no one wants.

Canada doesn't 'feel' free to any awake Canadian. Only those who are indifferent and uninformed still think they are 'free'. Sadly, I used to be proud to be Canadian, now I'm ashamed and terrified of what it has turned into.

Alberta Independence is the only viable option now.

This Canadian girl just said what millions are thinking but are too afraid to say out loud.

“Can somebody please tell me how we’re still calling Canada a free country?”

Then she laid out the receipts:

- We can’t access certain news channels without the government or platforms getting in the way.
- We can’t even pray in peace without someone trying to shut it down.
- Don’t fill out the census? Get fined.
- Someone breaks into your house? You can’t defend yourself properly — you can’t even hurt them without risking jail.
- We can’t own guns to protect our families.
- The government now decides what your kids can see on social media — not you.
- And we don’t even get to decide what goes into our own bodies… or our babies’.

This isn’t freedom.
This is a managed population.

Year after year, the Liberals chipped away at it — one “reasonable” restriction at a time — until regular Canadians started asking the question this woman is asking.

Mark Carney and the people running this country didn’t inherit a free nation.
They inherited one they could control.

And they’ve been very busy.

If this still feels like “Canada” to you, you’re either not paying attention… or you’re part of the problem.

The problem is that with CPP and OAS, we seniors are prisoners here in Canada. If we became US citizens, (dual citizenship was ended just a short while ago), then we would soon lose our CPP and OAS as Canada would, out of spite, not continue to send the money to us seniors that were 'living abroad'.
Only an independent Alberta would have the desire and resources to cover our OAS and CPP, (replaced with an AB OAS and AB PP), likely increasing payments to seniors, while removing Federal income tax and Goods and Services Tax.
