Working on a Kyle Busch tribute piece, as this weekend marks the first NHRA race at a NASCAR facility since his passing. When I spoke with Tony Stewart, he expressed his displeasure with people who judged him solely on what they saw on TV.

@NASCAR This news has scared the shit out of me. Absolutely stunned. Don’t forget to tell the ones you care about that you love them any chance you get because it can really happen at the snap of a finger. RIP
We lost Michael Annett, Greg Biffle, and now Kyle Busch, in just the span of 7 months.. RIP to all of them, they will never be forgotten no matter what.
" Heartbroke...it's a big reminder of how fragile life is. He won the truck race last week and this week we don't have Kyle anymore. I'm shellshocked."

Frontier Airlines Airbus A321-271NX aircraft (N646FR) operating flight 4345 from Denver hits an unidentified person on the runway during take-off.
Pilot aborted the take-off during the Los Angeles-bound departure, reported engine fire & smoke, then evacuated 231 onboard onto the Runway.
Frontier Airlines and federal investigators are reviewing how the person reached an active runway at Denver International Airport before being struck during the take-off roll.
The incident on May 8, 2026 is raising questions about perimeter security at one of the largest airfields in the United States.

AJ Allmendinger received medical attention after getting out of his car. Going back and listening to his in-car it sounds like the team was ready for this. Mentioned they'd have someone for him after the checkered flag

It just continues to amaze me how a lot of NASCAR fans find SOMETHING to bitch and moan about, and then get all mad when things go there way.
At this point, I'm just glad NASCAR is back. I just want to enjoy the sport for what it is, not sit around and complain. We are so back!

Five years ago, an armed mob stormed the United States Capitol. Inspired by lies and hatred spewed by Donald Trump, they used brutal violence and intimidation in an attempt to overturn a free and fair election. And since returning to office, Trump pardoned the insurrectionists who betrayed their country.
January 6, 2021, showed us how fragile our democracy is. We, the people, must fight back against Donald Trump and his cronies as they sow chaos and fear among the American people. We cannot stand idly by as they strip our fundamental freedoms, enrich themselves on the back of working people, and destroy our reputation around the globe. And we must continue to do the hard work to ensure our democracy survives.
Let me be clear: Certifying the presidential election on January 6, 2025, was one of the most challenging moments in my career. Yet I never — not for one second — considered any other action. Because the American people had spoken. And in our nation, the power is and must always be with the people.
