Realistic possibility this is our earliest snowpack peak/melt on record (since 1987).
Still early to talk about spring/summer implications, but obviously this isn't good.

Last night's Northern Lights were great, including here in Minnesota.
What was just as cool, though, was how many people were outside at parks & open spaces at 10, 11pm. They had ditched their streaming and TV and were all just looking up in the sky.
Nature > Netflix.
The #OptOutside movement is one of our favorites in recent years.
It encourages people to get outside and enjoy autumn the day after Thanksgiving, rather than race into a big box store at 6am.

Never hurts for hikers to have bear spray along. It is very effective and easy to carry.
Little known fact, bear spray works equally well on mountain lions and cougars, too.
