Zach Cregger gave us 90 minutes of an anxious delivery man trembling in a snowstorm, and we’re supposed to celebrate it as peak cinema while this level of pure visual presence exists in the franchise’s graveyard.

Say whatever you want about Paul W.S. Anderson, but the man understood star power. He cast an actress who looked like an actual living cutscene, slapped two Berettas in her hands, and gave her more effortless aura in three seconds than Cregger’s entire movie could scrape together.

Modern directors are so obsessed with making horror leads pathetic and relatable that they completely forgot how to make an action horror icon look untouchable. #ResidentEvil
