@hankgreen Not science, but, if we go with the accepted Calendar and Jesus really was born on 25th December. And the year really ends in December 31st, then wasn’t Jesus alive and born 6 days BC - (Before Christ)? Why was this not a bigger deal when inventing the Christian calendar?
@hankgreen The problem we had was worries about the battery degradation of more affordable EVs. We couldn’t afford to just replace the car in a few years if the battery dropped to a level that didn’t work for us but I know the used car I bought instead will last years.
A sad fact I’ve realised is that even the lucky millennials only make the money to buy and do up a property only just before they’re too old to typically have kids.
So most successful people I know are now simultaneously doing a full renovation and having a first child.
Crazy!
New idea. The Alan Rickman Christmas movie binge:
1. Start on Love Actually and learn to hate him
2. Then Robin Hood Prince of Thieves to watch him go mad
3. Watch Die Hard to watch him fall off a building
4. Watch Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows pt 2 to watch him redeem himself
Zombie Tenders Continue To Rise.
Public sector contracting continues to demonstrate worrying levels of uncompetitive tendering. Across 2022/23 nearly one in three reported contracts were let having received just one bid.

The context adds almost everything need to this tweet but also worth adding that @JNJNews only got this patent due to research largely funded by the public. So continued profiteering at our expense while 1.6million die each year. #tb#tuberculosis#jnj
It is false to suggest—as some recently have—that our patents are being used to prevent access to SIRTURO® (bedaquiline), our medicine for MDR-TB.
In fact, we have already entered into a collaboration with the Stop TB Partnership’s Global Drug Facility (“GDF”)—the largest procurer of TB medicines—which enables them to invite potential generic suppliers and purchase generic versions of SIRTURO® 100mg. On April 5, during a World Health Organization meeting, the GDF shared its intent to launch a tender for generic versions of SIRTURO® 100mg in the third quarter of 2023: https://t.co/6m49h5g7tn
In addition, we have shipped more than 660,000 courses of SIRTURO® to 159 countries since launch. Our patents made this possible, enabling us to assist countries to scale-up their use of our medicine responsibly and sustainably and invest in multiple, critical, anti-TB efforts. For instance, in the face of rising drug resistance, we support stewardship efforts that ensure MDR-TB patients can benefit from our medicine today and in the future.
Unfortunately, the most significant barrier to treatment access for patients today is the fact that millions of patients with TB go undiagnosed every year. This is a challenge that we have invested significant resources to overcome and must all get behind if we are to achieve the global goal of ending TB.
Hey, so we're coming to the end of Day One for the poor admin of @JNJNews. Please let your bosses know that hundreds of thousands of people are horrified and disgusted by J&J's attempt to extend their monopoly on bedaquiline, a critical tuberculosis drug.
SIX MILLION people who need to access bedaquiline will be unable to do so over the next four years unless J&J backs down. I wish I could tell the @JNJGlobalHealth admin that tomorrow will be better. But actually it will be worse. The pressure will grow.
Learn about the crisis and what you can do: https://t.co/7hJ9nncMwZ
One of the reasons tuberculosis continues to infect and kill more people is because you refuse to allow the widespread distribution of affordable bedaquiline, which is essential to stopping the spread of multidrug-resistant tuberculosis and curing those infected by it.
It takes some gall to wonder aloud what the problem is when you know that you are the problem. You've had 20 years of a bedaquiline monopoly. You've made your money. ENOUGH.
I HAVE RETURNED TO MAIN because I am FURIOUS that @JNJGlobalHealth is preventing millions from accessing life-saving treatment with bedaquiline, thereby costing innumerable lives and increasing the global risk of multidrug-resistant tuberculosis. https://t.co/AbTdNzC1Sm
@TateTheTalisman@piersmorgan The difference is what you did is illegal. What this person did is unethical.
They are a terrible person.
But you Sir, if the allegations are true, are scum.
The #rwanda plan is another waste of
time:
- more expensive than keeping them here
- makes us look evil and inhumane
- illegal
Why are we wasting time and money on this? #Immigration#waste#government
Once you move away it’s so easy to forget how oppressively hot the tube is.
I feel engineers haven’t thought creatively enough about how to help this situation. Fans to create a through draft?? Anything! #tfl#londonunderground#thetube
Instead they just declare it a ‘kangaroo court’ and accuse it of bias and have nothing to say about the substance of the allegations.
‘Wah wah wah why can’t I criticise them?’
You can criticise the #report on its merits you fuckwits.
Next - this fucking #priviledges committee report tied to #partygate.
These sycophants have every right to dispute the committee report but like a court the committee should be able to work without fear or prejudice.
This #report is calling them out because they abused the committee BEFORE seeing the report. They were trying to influence it!
If they were making mistakes they could wait for the report and then point them out!
